Yeah, it's a good lamp. However, some people have experienced problems with the switch. If yours sticks, just smack it a few times and it will come on. But overall it's a great headlamp.

Petzl Micro's are on sale various places for 10 bucks. I think they may be discontinued, so I grabbed a couple... and I got tired of whacking the one I've got, too, LOL It did pretty well, tho'. It lasted about 8 years before the rotary switch began to crap out.

I've got an Aurora, too, but the light those LEDs put out bugs me for some reason. It's just... 'fuzzy', or something.

The thing with going with AAAs is they're not available as Lithiums. At least that I know of.

My Tikka uses AAAs, but I'm thinking of trading it in for a lamp that gives you as much burn time to consolidate energy use. Standardize on one set of batteries for as much as possible. GPS, Radios, Headlamp, nucular reactor,... ALL on Lithium AAs. It's all about trade-offs.

Yes, and I meant nucular. 8P

Okay, you're confusing me. Is it New-Que-Lar or New-Koo-Lar?

Pick your poison, I guess.

Somehow Fletch's words, "It's all about ball-bearings" seems fitting.

We like our Princetons, and we can hike with them. Only thing is in the winter when you get off trail and are looking for the blazes, it's nice to have a spotlight type light. Fortunately when we did our first 3 hour tour in BSP Bruce Almighty and Twigeater had them. I didn't, but still managed to spot a few blazes.

I see some people listen to Dennis Miller. It's newkular.

I have an Aurora that I got when Moosejaw.com mislabeled the sale price as $13. I wish I'd gotten 2 instead of 1. I have had it about a year and been very satisfied.

I found there is a whole rash of LEDs being made by other companies now. Eveready has one out for $12.99 at Walmart that looks really cool. There were no less than 4 different ones with all kinds of lighting options there.

I've not been very pleased with the overall performance of my Aurora...lite that is. My Eureka! Aurora tent is fine.

The banging, disassembling, re-banging, and cursing is a little too much for me.

Gojo send it back or call them. I broke part of the strap on mine(my fault) and they sent me out a replacement part. Very Good customer service.

The Eveready is actually a pretty decent light for the price.

The Petzl Tikka Plus

is the best lightweight LED light now available IMHO.

Four (count 'em) LEDs
3 brightness settings & blinking

I have an Aurora and like it. But I did notice they now have several different kinds at WallyWorld for cheap.

If yer banging yer Aurora, maybe you oughtta call or email Princeton Tec. I've found them to have pretty good customer service. Give 'em a chance to make it right.

Did I mention...
The tikka plus has a little recessed switch that is very hard to turn on accidently.
