Not sure what everyone else saw this morning, but it can't beat what i saw.

A dead body.

While walking to work I noticed alot of cops, then i saw the yellow tape and there in the middle of the sidewalk was this poor guy covered in what used to be a white sheet. Now it is RED.
I am sure he was murdered.

I wish they would cover the bodies better.
Yup can't say livin in the city is not interesting.

I think my sponsors would be interested in speaking with Miss Maple. You see, dead bodies have a propensity to make it into most of my stories. If only we could find out a little more about how this one made it to the street in a heap.

I spent two lovely days in Brooklyn this week. Yesterday I had a cop killer all day. Too hot for a vest.I only wear mine when it's cold. Started going to NYC about 3 years ago. Never did or wanted to before. We drove down Atlantic And out via 1st ave in Manhattan. There's an energy there. I'm getting to like it. Of course there's a LOT of sights that are absolutely gorgeous too.

It wasn’t this morning, but I found a dead body in a parking lot once.

On a happier note I have seen a bald eagle sitting on top of the same tree along the Delaware River the past 2 mornings on my way to work.

Other than going to viewings, I saw my first dead body on the beat, and it was traumatic because of the circumstances. I've seen about five more since, and it never is easy, but after awhile you begin to accept it.

This morning I backed my truck out of the driveway over colored leaves. Before I pulled away, I glanced over my shoulder at the beautiful Paint Rock Valley below the mountain cliffs. I could see fog off in the distance for about 10 miles. I drove down the mountain among hardwoods with leaves turning color. Then I hit the dang city, and, well, you know the rest.

What the heck am I doing here at work?

Lotsa Canadas, some snows - they've been arriving for a while, but the corn's still in the fields. Two deer trotting down the road in front of the Jeep. About fifty wild turkeys in a field and several red-headed vultures. Grouse and Hare populations seem to be low this year. Gonna see my daughter to-morrow, she's down from university in northern Ontario (Sudbury). Hope to see my son at the same time, he's out of the hospital and in the care of his mother. His mother is actually doing something and I appreciate the slack it gives me. Going to tak advantage of the rest of the long week-end to go canoe camping with the gf. Life's pretty good right now.

When I was a kid (about 9) our next door neighbor wakled across uor front yard broke into the house next to us raped and stabbed both the women living there and then walked back across our yard,to his house, where he promptly went to bed.I vaguely remember the bloody footprints across our front yard.As a nurse I`ve seen my share of dead bodies and I`ve watched people die...not a lot of fun!!My mothers best friend was stabbed 78 times by her son when I was 17,he a paranoid schizophrenic and she had just had him released from the hospital against medical advice. She lived but i remember helping my mother clean up all the blood.....Never forget the bloody hand prints on the walls.

mapleleaf, cops and paramedics should know better and carry red sheets for such occasions.

By the way, how's your spelling lately?

Maybe someone else put a regular sheet over him.

2 years ago I saw a motorcyclist get the back of his skull smashed off by a pickup truck. That wasn't pretty and I've had a "thing" about cantaloupe since.

Holy Crap >:O
Alright you bums, this is like a pissin' contest to see who has the nastiest story!

On a recent Sunday while walkin' to work I saw two crappers at an on-campus contruction site that had been knocked over.

It must have been a party weekend.

I saw a dead body on when I was taking my son to school this morning. It was a pronghorn antelope that just got hit. The minivan that hit it was kinda smashed in front. Nobody had covered the pronghorn with a sheet yet though.

There was a very flat and presumably dead squirrel in the road at the end of my driveway this morning...

Does that count?

I found a dead body this past spring while hiking along a river near where I live. It really screwed up the first nice sunny warm day after that big snow finally melted off!! Streamweaver

""On a happier note I have seen a bald eagle sitting on top of the same tree along the Delaware River the past 2 mornings on my way to work."""

How do you know it was the same bald eagle both days?? Maybe it was one raptor who killed the other and was wearing the other's flesh.. like Hannibal just to trick you into thinking it was the SAME bald eagle when, in fact, it was not...

I have seen my share of dead bodies.

I was never felt compelled to post these events on an internet hiking forum.
