jackie brown was a good solid movie in its own right, but after the super-edgy reservoir dogs and the uber-hip pulp fiction, it was kind of a letdown. im not expecting that from this movie. qt's not as good when hes playing it straight. on a side note, i bet not many ppl know that he actually approached george lucas about directing episode II.

Kill Bill evolved from conversations with Uma (mmmmmmmmm Uma) during the filming of Pulp Fiction. The story got bigger than both of them, with footage to match. So they made 2 films in post.

What is your favorite flavor of beef jerky? I find I either like peppered or just plain ol' jerky

KEWL about the episode 2!
Maybe, Q.T. could do the episode 3 and tie 1,2 with 4,5,6 or un-tie it all, which seems to be QT's fortay.

2spooks,
I wanna hear the trip report on that hike!

killer movie! the opening image of uma's horribly battered face was both beautiful and hard to look at. this movie was a lot of bloody (literally) fun. lacks the humor of pulp fiction, but alot more action. lucy liu was stunning. i couldnt take my eyes off her. and the anime section in the middle was a nice treat. overall, this movie surpasses every qt movie except for pulp fiction.

Lost in Translation
Its a hiking movie. Bill Murray hikes around Tokyo feeling so damn out of place its scary. No map, no compass, no GPS. Just like that time I took a wrong turn in the forest . . .

Dirty Pretty Things
Great outdoors themed thriller movie. Audrey Tatou and the black guy playing the Nigerian doctor have to navigate their way around the wilds of London without getting caught (they're both illegal aliens; they didn't get a 'wilderness' permit before entering the UK).

Kill Bill 2
Did it answer the question ?

Why did Bill Kill 'The Bride' ? at her wedding, or at least try.

Yeah, unless you are one of those putz's who want the script to be believable.

Put your logic chips on standby mode and watch the action.

From simply a visual style pov, Kill Bill 1 is just about the most "stylish" movie you'll ever see. It really is cinematic art. Not to everyone's taste, but QT proves you can make a "violent" film ascend to breathtaking rather than stomach churning levels.

">>>>Um... he put a bullet in her hear at the beginning of the movie. That's why she has a steel plate in her head"<<<<

Duh ! well yes I saw that....WHY did Bill put a bullet in her head.

And yes I probably do understand that the bullet was to kill her, I wondered WHY Bill wanted her dead, and as the entire KB I was a flashback except the copperhead killing, I thought that maybe KB II may have explained events leading up to the bullet in the head.

I'm just speculating, but I think she tried to leave the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad after she got pregnant and start a new life. Bill wasn't going to have any of it, so he tried to kill her.

But that theory does not Jell with Copperhead's domestic tranquility, small child coming home from school etc.

As Copperhead was in in the Bride killing I would doubt that she would dare go get pregnant.

Oh excrement, I forgot, leave the logic chips on standby. Sorry.

Just got back from the first matinee, and you are right, BB, a great "sequel," though I still wish that, after a pee break, they would have shown the rest of the movie when Kill Bill 1 ended. I was ready.

I watched KB1 with Reino Friday night so she could catch up before today. She wished she had come to the theater to see it with me. We both really enjoyed Vol. 2. QT is such a stylist, and great with the dialogue. I won't give anything away, but everyone got what they deserved, in the way they deserved it.
