I Used 2 (Yes TWO) Groundpads Last NightView MessagesViewing posts 1 to 18 of 18 messages posted.
This May Become A Trend “Pulled a bagnight last night at my local stomping ground, and this time I brought my Z-Rest to put under my Therma-Rest simply to add to the comfort and BOY HOWDY was it more comfortable than either alone. Twice the comfort one might say. I suggest everyone try this at least once in their lives!!!” 8:40:05 PM 10/12/03 “ultralite be damned! thats my boy.” 8:44:03 PM 10/12/03 “I have a thermarest and I cut my blue thingy so it would be long enough to go under my shoulders and hips....I am a side sleeper & it was wonderful...no hip pain.......wooo hooo...maybe a zrest would be easier to carry tho.....less bulky????” 8:48:37 PM 10/12/03 “I have an ems mattress that is 2 inches thick and 25 inches wide. I don't mind hauling the weight. A 20" wide mattress and my arms fall off and the ciculation gets messed up. I have a themarest 25" wide camplite that I haven't tried out yet. I do like my zzzz'z” 9:09:24 PM 10/12/03 “Budder, which therm-a-rest do you have? I have the LE and it's thick as hell, I've never felt the ground or anything on the ground through it. I believe it's 2" thick, if you don't have one, I suggest it. Forget the ultralite and the guidelite...the LE is worth it's weight in gold.” 10:21:42 PM 10/12/03 “I'm thinking of a DAM (down filled air mat) ...for the weight it gives real comfort and warmth. In combination with a quilt ,might not be that heavy.” 10:50:29 PM 10/12/03 “i only do that in the cold temps to keep body warmth” 11:19:29 PM 10/12/03 “i lov squash...” 11:27:54 PM 10/12/03 “i love squash...” 11:27:59 PM 10/12/03 Now You're Catching On “i only do that in the cold temps to keep body warmth" Bloody Tea 11:19:29 PM 10/12/03 That's pretty much the antithesis of this thread...2 pads in warmer months instead of colder ones, and used for comfort instead of warmth.” 5:11:45 AM 10/13/03 “If it's for comfort you ought to take a look at Big Agnes' REM pads. They're full length, 2 1/2 inches thick and only weigh a few ounces more than a 3/4 length thermarest ultralight. It's like sleeping at home, in bed.” 7:08:45 AM 10/13/03 Thermarest Ridge Rest “I just noticed in the Campmor catalog that a new 25"wide ridge rest has been added. Things are looking up for me.” 7:40:03 AM 10/13/03 “I'm getting one of the Big Agnises for warm trips and may try the thin blue thingy on top in cold. With both it should still be lighter than the full T-Rest.” 8:30:01 AM 10/13/03 “I was carrying the Thermarest regular long and an ensolite pad. Then for the same weight as the long, I got the Thermarest LE and it rocks, like Dub said. I am going to the 3/4 LE ASAP to save almost a pound of weight off that.” 8:50:05 AM 10/13/03 “I looked at a big agnes review maybe a couple of years ago. I guess I gotta do some more home work!” 8:55:33 AM 10/13/03 “2 pads? DANG! You must be getting old!! -Free-” 9:21:04 AM 10/13/03 “It's all about trade offs. I have hiked with Budder and I know he doesn't bring anything he doesn't use. In fact, he is one of only two people I have ever hiked with that when I see them handle themselves I see that they actually live in the wilderness when they are out rather than just visiting. 8)” 9:27:03 AM 10/13/03 “I would rather not see Budder handle himself.... -Free-” 9:42:05 AM 10/13/03
