A man stands against moral corruption i n America

“This is statement that was read over the PA system at the football game at Roane County High Schoolin Kingston Tennesse,by school Principal,Jody Mcloud.I think it`s worth sharing with my fellow TT`ers.It seems to show me how far the USA and Canada hace morally degenerated in the wrong direction.

"It has always been the custom at Roane High school football games,to say a prayerand play the National Anthem,to honor godand country."

Due to a recent ruling by the Supreme court,I am told that saying a prayer is a violation of Federal Case Law.As I the law at this time ,I can use this public facility to approve of sexual perversion and call it a "alternate lifestyle" anf if someone is offended,that`s ok.

Ican use it to condonesexual promiscuity,by dispesing condoms and calling it "safe sex"if someone is offended that`s ok.

I can even use this public facility to present the merits of killing an unborn baby as a "viable means of birth control"If someone is offended,no problem.

I can designate a school day as "Earth Day" and involve students in activities to worship religously and praise the goddess "Mother Earth" and call,it "ecology"

I can use literature,videos and presentations in the classroom that depict people with strong ,traditional Christain traditions "as simple minded" and "ignorant" and call it "enlightenment"

However if anyone uses this public faclity to honor God and to ask him to bless this event with safety and good sportsmanship,then the federal Case Law is violated.

This appears to be inconsistent at best and at worst,diabolical.Apparently ,we are to be tolerant of every thing and anyone except God and his Commandments.

Nevertheless,as aschool principal ,I frequently ask staff and students to abide by rules with which they do not necessarily agree.For me to do otherwise would be inconsistent at best,and at worst hypocritical.I suffer from that affliction enough unintentionally.I certainly do not need to add a intentional transgression.

For this reason ,I shall "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar`s",and refrain from praying at this time.

They prayed in the stands .They prayed in team huddles.They prayed at the concession stand and they prayed in the annoncers box!!

The only place they didn`t pray was in the Supreme court of the United States of America----- the seat of "Justice" in the "one nation ,under God"

Some how Kingston, Tennesse remembered what so many of us have forgotten!!!!”

Your opening post is a prime, and I mean absolute prime reason why the Supreme Court, in its infinite wisdom, has stopped these practices.

Not everyone in this country is Baptist. Not everyone believes Jesus is the son of God. Not everyone feels that our God is the supreme God. Does this make them immoral? Hell no, it doesn't. I have know complete atheists that lived a more complete "moral" life than I do. It is sad to say, but sometimes the truth stings.

I spent 11 years practicing criminal defense and I can tell you for a fact that almost everyone on death row professed to being a Christian.

At some point we have to accept that common decency and respect for others is not entirely based upon any single religion, but upon our own responsibility to each other.

I, for one, am getting damn tired of hearing the same old song...

What a complet crock of #&%!$. The problem is that we aren't teaching good basic morality. That word and its meaning are completely free and independent of religion and can be taught without any religious influence.

Bygod, people who constantly take the approach that the Courts are stripping our morality are starting to piss me off.

These people are the same ones who would howl to high heaven if a principal taught Buddhism in school. I live in the south, go to any school down here and open every day of school by reading from the Book of Morman. Those demanding the 10 commandments in the courthouse would be the ones with the rope when they found the principal.


It is fairly simple,,there is no "majority rule" in religion. The very essence of any religion is the manner in which any individual accepts and adheres to the same.

If the Supreme Court ever departs from the Constitution, I hope I can find a better place to live. Until then, I trust that document will be upheld and our individual liberties will not be trampled by those who openly desire I will think, say and believe what they advocate.”

They should have an equal right to get some free land, and put up a display of their choice. I agree and I said earlier there is a morality problem in the U.S. But the job of the U.S. Government is not to legislate morality. We have become a country of victims, when a politician is caught in a questionable situation they blame the other party for similar things instead of just admitting fault, accepting the punishment and moving on.

I wasn`t trying to start a religious debate.I just believe that both countries have slipped away from their founding principles,leading to some of todays problems.The truth is the church is responsible for much of todays problems...I rarely attended church as a kid....raised in a athiest home....when I did go Boring city....Where was God....It remains much the same today...There are Ministers in my area ....who represent the church ,but are new agers,buddhists,athiest...and agnostic.If people saw the true power of God maybe there would be change....I`ve been to churches where God was doing something ie# Brownsville Florida,Smithton Missouri,Toronto....And it was incredible.I`ve also ben to the Former Soviet Union several times....The shadow of Communism still exists and it puts fear in people...They lived without God for 75 yrs and it got them nothing...The church has come out of hiding and is offering hope to people .....People are Hungry for bibles ....There is more demand than supply.It`s the church opening drug rehab centers,orphanages,doctors clinics...feeding the poor and sheltering the homeless.For the first time in years Ukranian villiages are getting medical care thanks to Doctors on wheels ,who come into a village with a converted horse trailer equipped with x-ray machine,eeg, etc...The line ups are massive.These are people who were promised a chicken in every pot...Some of the villiages don`t even have water,a very basic need.Funny Governments that deny god seem to be harsh,uncaring and rigid...Lets see there`s North Korea,Vietnamn,China,Laos,Cambodia...to name a few...not the kinda place I`d want to live you???
