Nevermind. ;o)” 7:22:52 PM 2/03/04 “Sorry, we've... I've been.... ahem... washing the floor...” 7:38:51 PM 2/03/04 “I think you two need to go fishing... o(=D” 7:59:43 PM 2/03/04 “Yes, good idea Twigeater. :)” 8:04:38 PM 2/03/04 “Sunday, we'll be ice fishing, eh? Just me, Skeetah Bait, and.... Twigeater too!!! JK. Is anyone else gonna join us?” 5:12:41 AM 2/04/04 “And there will be no "washing floors" LOL! My nephew might come along. I'll e-mail you guys the time and we can talk about where to meet. Looking forward to it! o(=D” 8:30:32 AM 2/04/04 “I have Fischer BCX Outbound Crown for my backcountry skis. I just have regular NNN bindings mounted on them, but am thinking about getting backcountry NNN bindings and BC boots. My standard cross country boots are pretty stiff. I also have a pair of waxable Fischer Europas (3 pin) and a pair of waxless Fischer Radials (NNN)for my touring skis. I use these mostly for skiing in track. I do not have an extra pair of boots, but if anyone wants me to bring my touring Fischers to try out, let me know.” 8:32:28 AM 2/04/04 snowhoes & skis... “I usually carry whichever I'm not wearing. It'll be fun to play with skis at night on the pond (as long as it's safe) heck! anybody want to haul an extra sled with an auger so we can fish! LOL...” 9:12:15 AM 2/04/04 “snowhoes (LOL) = snowshoes” 9:13:13 AM 2/04/04 “Mmm fresh fish for dinner! Any Lobsters in those ponds Twiggie? I got a 2 liter pot we can cram a 2 pounder in.” 9:17:54 AM 2/04/04 “Lt, you'll have to cut it up first.” 9:31:10 AM 2/04/04 “hogtie it...” 9:50:04 AM 2/04/04 “I will join this journey. I have heard this eater of twigs is a saucy wench.” 10:09:48 AM 2/04/04 “Nah Twiggie nows how to make them fit.” 10:11:39 AM 2/04/04 “What's in the sauce?” 10:12:21 AM 2/04/04 “Hey! why the name change! Every time I see you post, I envision you with a funnel on yer head, LOL... -<:)” 10:42:20 AM 2/04/04 “I have to come up with something to cook for the trip - no more moose. :( and I didn't get any deer hearts this year either! I'm thinking shrimp stew or seafood chowder. Shrimp is in season right now, and it's yummy! Maybe I could figure out blueberry dumplings this trip, LOL... o(=D” 10:45:50 AM 2/04/04 “Oh dear heart! Too much confusion on TT trips....."well if your name is Mark, do we call you Tom?" Shrimp? Make sure it passes the smell test! ~~~<:^P” 11:04:45 AM 2/04/04 “the "smell" test? do I want to know???” 11:06:41 AM 2/04/04 “I'll think up something for a group meal or dessert also. Anybody got any food allergies or aversions?” 11:54:01 AM 2/04/04 “I've got an aversion to bad seafood! Huuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrlllllllllll:P~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~” 11:55:29 AM 2/04/04 “MarkO my lovely, this shrimp is fresh off the boat, cleaned and peeled with my very own hands. I do live in MAINE ya know! LOL... (course it will have been frozen by the time you get to eat it) Perhaps I'll show you all how I make lobsters fit into my backpacking pot and see who still follows me into the woods after... o(;p” 12:13:53 PM 2/04/04 “Phew! I just read through all of the sled building threads. The goo dnews is I've got some great ideas thanks to all who have already built and tried them out. I'm headed to get a sled right after work and then I can start designing and planning a trip to the hardware store. Wooohooo - snowshoes, backcountry skis, pak boots....I can have it all!” 1:51:03 PM 2/04/04 “OK twigeater, I'll trust anything made with your loving hands. >:^] Make the lobster fit? This I gotta see!” 3:06:23 PM 2/04/04 “I think I know how twigeater makes the lobster fit and I don't think it's something you want to see. I ended up getting the Big Foot "Beast" for a sled. It's orange, but who cares what color it is, right? I'm going to have to plan a trip to Home Depot for some hardware for the traces. I think I'm going to try and set it up similar to Pennsy's design.” 9:43:53 AM 2/06/04 “Yeah I won't be doing it again, I felt really bad. I only made myself eat it cause I killed it in a worse way than usual. :( I keep thinking I need a bigger sled, but that means more stuff... o(=D” 10:39:00 AM 2/06/04 “Ski my sled is blaze orange also, it is the Paris Expedition. Let me know how the harness works out for you. I am going to start mine next week after i get back from Sunday River Skiing.” 11:00:14 AM 2/06/04 “get this - I called BSP to see if the Nesowadnehunk bunkhouse was available for the long weekend. It is, but I can't reserve it because it's not 10 days prior to the trip. @%]” 1:45:57 PM 2/06/04 “One change I hope to make to my sled before the trip is to make the traces detachable. They were PITA last trip when we tried to go sledding.” 2:04:28 PM 2/06/04 “Hey there, our sleds are blaze orange also. Not a bad choice in case of emergency, you know. Now why would anyone want to take the traces off their sleds when they have a perfectly good set of skiis with them. <:p” 3:09:55 PM 2/06/04 “because after we went for a walk, snowshoed the mtn, went night skiing, and made snow angels we went night sledding. why limit yourself? o(=D” 3:22:00 PM 2/06/04 “Oh I love night skiing. As opposed to sledding, you ned to duck more when you are standing up skiing. Pretty exciting. I'm a bit of a daydreamer, take after my son, and I feel like James Bond on that mountain woods ski chase scene. But you won't see me skiing off a roof and across a table.” 4:05:02 PM 2/06/04 “ned=need” 4:24:57 PM 2/06/04 “Hey, LT, this is SB....when you going to be at Sunday River? MB and I are heading up there tomorrow for the day. Maybe we can meet up?” 5:32:47 PM 2/06/04 “SB I am going up on Sunday and staying until wensday.” 1:50:27 PM 2/07/04 “Hope you had a good day skiing,” 1:52:23 PM 2/07/04 “SB and I had an awesome day skiing Saturday. We skiied it like we wanted to and we didn't quite make it to the end of the day. Our quads were killing us. We hit every trail we liked and were able to hit em hard! Snowed til about 2 or so. Awesome day!!! Wishing you the same.” 5:26:11 PM 2/08/04 “I'm stuffed with smelts. o(=D thanks again for the picture, MB&SB!” 5:28:33 PM 2/08/04 “Very nice relaing fun day it was!!! Glad you like the little fishy fellows.” 5:31:42 PM 2/08/04 “we got 36 altogether.” 5:35:21 PM 2/08/04 “Thanks for having us Twigeater....we had a great time!!! Even though I didn't want to touch the squirmy worms or smelly fish :) JK It definately was fun!” 7:02:37 PM 2/08/04 “Glad you guys came along! You're a good sport Skeetah - wish my camera worked, LOL! :) Next - mackeral fishing!” 7:19:24 PM 2/08/04 “They smelt that bad?” 7:25:09 AM 2/09/04 “LOL, I didn't notice that they "smelt" at all, but ya know - a fish is a fish! o(=D” 7:40:14 AM 2/09/04 “Like Mr. Ed?” 7:56:20 AM 2/09/04 “Hey, I thought that was you over on VFTT MarkO, and I almost sent "you" a message. Good thing I checked the profile first! o(=D” 1:06:12 PM 2/09/04 “I picked up everything I need to modify my sled, now I just have to build it. I ended up getting electrical conduit for the traces. The only potential weakpoint is going to be where each trace joins together in the center. The connectors for electrical conduit only use two screws to apply pressure to the ouside of the conduit. If I could have found 14' sections of conduit, I would have been able to make one section. If I made one section, I would not have been able to take the traces off the sled for fun and transportation.” 2:12:26 PM 2/09/04 “Skiracer, I made my sled using one 10' conduit. I think it is some 14" in the middle and the remainder is trailing back from both sides of me. I was completely able to enjoy skiing with the skiis hitting the sled. I attached the traces to a piece of plywood bolted to the front. Just a suggestion..... http://community.webshots.com/photo/65465161/65483624DTtWYj Above is a copy and paste to a sort of picture.... But it shows a 10' conduit used.” 4:11:55 PM 2/09/04 Skiracer “I'm trying to send you a better pic of our sleds, to the e-mail on your profile. You may want to consider the short traces. They were long enough for our skiis. It'll be coming from uphillklimber@yahoo.com” 4:26:08 PM 2/09/04 “Thanks, monkeyboy. Got it and responded.” 5:28:53 PM 2/09/04 Jump to Page << prev
