I went to EMS and bought a zero degree down bag today. I told the guy I wanted to "try it on" for size. I put a pad on the floor, took off my coat and shoes, got inside and zipped it up. I like REI better for that. They had a carpeted bench about 2.5' wide and 7' long for trying out bags.

Compass Pond logbook...
For those of you who were on the last Maine winter trip, the "Tim" saga lives on!

If you remember (I didn't) the previous inhabitants of the cabin had locked one of their own in the outhouse. We posted that he tasted like chicken (which drunk posted that!, LOL) and later in June others posted to watch for the ghost of Tim as he likes to rattle the outhouse door.

I'm still confused by this entry (made by me): "I wanted the floor cheese but Pennsy wanted the dust bunny for himself!!!"
must've been some post hike party!

I almost got frosbite taking that morning picture of Katahdin. Although it was only minus 5-10, the wind chill was almost minus 30. We covered up every inch of skin! It was even cold in the cabin.

I annoyed my friends by singing, "I wanted to be a space ma-a-an, that's what I wanted to be..."

LMAO about the CP log book entries. I almost forgot about that. I DID forget about the floor cheese and dust bunnies though. You're right, that must have been some party.

Space Man - hey, I think that's a 4 Non Blondes song. I'm sure Artex will LOVE hearing it.

OL, that was the entire "Tim" saga that I posted above - it was actually monkeyboy who said he tasted like chicken.

I wish I still had my 4 non blondes CD...

I have that CD (really). It will be a collector's item someday. Artex offered to trade me his Abba'a Greatest Hits CD for it but I'm holding out.

Good god man! Why do you constantly boast about owning that 3 Non-Blondes CD? Don't you realize how many cool points that's costing you? What's next? You're a closet Spin Doctors fan? Or, god forbid.... YANNI?!?!

the horror..... the horror....

Just curious.

heII, I posted this once and it disappeared...

LOL, I actually have ABBA's greatest hits - maybe we could have a sing-a-long on the trip!
=D
That is the CD Lt, Bigger Better Faster More! and the only CD 4 Non Blonds made, that I know of. I only like one song (don't know the name of it) the rest of the music is totally different. I don't remember any space man song by them, but that doesn't mean anything...

I'll have to look up the space man song I'm talking about...

so....I guess I won't confess my most recent CD purchases here, LOL...except I don't know who yanni is, so that must be a good thing. I did love MJ when I was about thirteen. :)

Thanks zac! I like the framed Katahdin pic from Sunday Pond - the blue is beautiful. I haven't put my captions on yet...

I'll even provide them zac. Never mind my lousy taste in music, wait'll you hear my snoring.

Hey, them's the words Stomper - space woman doesn't fit. Besides, one thing I always liked about Star Trek is that everyone is addressed the same way, sir! LOL...

I was a chubby little girl in a skunk suit once, but no bee suit...what band was that?

is this music education? I got a C- in college in the "history of rock 'n roll."

I can't find I-tunes (make a link!) John Tesh is the dimpled blonde guy on ET - although I know he sings, I've never heard him (at least not on purpose)- and that bee kid is cute!

Do I get an A? =D

Ummmmm, which one? Live at the Acropolis? yeah, I can bring that too if ya want. I think I have a Tesh CD around here also. Mind you, this is the Tour de France soundtrack when he was at ABC. Pretty cool stuff.

I went nuts when I used to belong to CD clubs. So sue me!

I'm still a rocker at heart though and prefer the likes of Metallica, ACDC, Aerosmith etc.

I have ACDC and Aerosmith as well.
My extremes go from Patsy Cline and Connie Stevens to Eminem, Nirvana, Guns 'N Roses. Some of my favorites are John Prine, Gordon Lightfoot, Three Dog Night, Peter Paul and Mary. I also have Ritchie Valens and Daniel Boone. Alison Krauss, Lita Ford, Dido...

so how uncool am I, even for a Maineiac?

Have you forgotten that you're gonna be in my car for the 4 hour drive from Portland? You just keep on smacking your forehead. It will be good practice for slamming your head into my dashboard.
