Bridge Day in WV

“This Saturday, you can strap on a parachute and jump from the New River Gorge Bridge, dangle from a rope under the ribs of the bridge, or just plain walk across the bridge.”

“Bridge day ROCKS! Some of the crazy stuff the jumpers wear is so funny! Lots to see and do. Plus the leaves are peaking! Another great day trip is to hike into Sweets Falls and watch the carnage on the Gully. Hundreds of rafters throwing themselves headlong down 14’ Sweets Falls only to try and “beat the box”. Nothing better than hearing hundreds of fellow rafters/onlookers cheering as another hapless raft gets crushed and stuck on “postage Due”. I’ve seen rafts so plastered they had to deflate the raft and pull it off Postage Due with ropes.

Howdy all.... haven't posted here in a while. (but, have been lurking like the troll that I am for some time). I have finally moved from Orlando to Summersville, W.VA. to be with my girlfriend. That house I almost bought over near the Cranberry Outback had major stability issues (sliding off its foundation into the street) so at the present I am renting a nice small cabin-like place in Summersville, about 15 minutes North of that frickin New River Gorge bridge. Man I hate that thing! I am severely skeered of heights and this one just perks my butt when I drive over it.
And tomorrow, all those IDIOTS are going to be JUMPING off of it!!! on PURPOSE !!! I'll watch it on the local TV, thank you very much.
Anyways, my sign shop down in Orlando got busted pretty bad by hurricane Ivan and then again with Jean.... so I just tossed everything in the landfill and starting over completely new up here in West Virginia with my girlfriend. We both enjoy the mountains here.... trout fishing, camping, hiking, and all that these here hills have to offer.
Oh, and WOW at the new look of this site!! Kudos to all that had a hand in it!!!
Well... gotta go rake up all those pretty leaves that used to be ON the trees!!!
Tomorrows forcast for Bridge Day is low 50s and brisk cold winds...... so if any of you guys are gonna be a jumper..... well, the weather don't matter much, does it !!! LOL LOL
