“yep - the company came through and layed me off which is a good deal for me - 36 weeks pay for layoff benefit then 1 July I retire (turn 60 in June) and start getting my pension - health benefits are maintained through out

anyways the timing is great for a thruhike - my last day at work is 13 March - the only thing that will suck is that I won't have time to get in shape before the trail so I will have to get into shape ON the trail - first month is going to be rough and slow
