“Orson Welles broadcast his famous “War of the Worlds” radio program on this day in 1938 and caused great panic across America. Welles adapted H.G. Wells’s science-fiction novel about a Martian invasion into a radio play, but the production was performed as if the events were developing live. The play was interrupted by a number of phony news bulletins relating to the supposed Martian invasion, and the events were so realistic that panic ensued. Listeners prepared for alien war by taking to roads and cellars and arming themselves.” 4:16:31 PM 10/30/03 “No, you see, that actually happened. The government is just covering it up by saying it was a radio spoof.” 4:21:50 PM 10/30/03 “That was what i learned in my first communications class in college. Kind like the moon landing, JFK and Elvis. It was all fake.” 4:27:56 PM 10/30/03 “its a vast alien cover-up. the government is now run by aliens. its the only thing that makes sense.” 4:28:01 PM 10/30/03 “It is all clear now. The movie, "They Live" was on AMC last night. A truely great performance by Roddy Roudy Pipper (I know I spelled that wrong) Aliens that don't leash their alien dogs when they backpack too, right?” 4:31:08 PM 10/30/03 “Several people committed suicide as a result of the broadcast. That was back before people knew the media was a bunch whores who would publish anything for a dollar.” 5:16:17 PM 10/30/03 “Bacpac, that was one of the most accurate things I have ever heard you state..” 9:15:16 PM 10/30/03 Capricorn One “Weren't the NASA space programs that culminated in the Apollo moon landing all government conspiracies too? " Houston, we have a problem !"” 10:19:50 PM 10/30/03
