Funny! As I recall those didn't fit so great. I SO don't want a repeat of the hamburger heels those gave me! Thanks anyway.

Anywho, I picked up a spare pair of boots at a scratch-n-dent sale today. If I think they're broken in enough by then to handle it without wrecking my feet, I'll be there. I doubt it, though.

well, I heard somewhere (and don't ask me where, because I don't know anymore) that some trails suppose to be closed due to birds breading.

The info I have pasted only seams to refer to climbers though, so I am not sure. Maybe worth checking out.

I never had any problems. I think I hit one closed trails once last year. Can't remember the area though. I think it was somewhere around sitting bear.

scullcap...my hubby has some army boots, men size 10 :) they would not fit huh?

I'm down as a 'maybe' but it looks like I have a birthday conflict... I was looking forward to trying Pinch-In going DOWN instead of UP!

Speaking of Vasques --- I better get those buggers resoled. The La Sportivas will need resoling before too much longer and I'll need some backups.

i started on the banjo last february. i'm just starting to get fair. this is the first instrument i ever learned and it has been slow. i'm still gaining though and having lots of fun.

stick with that mandolin and we could have the TT bluegrass bangers.

buddur has been pickin a banjo for coming on to two years now. he must be getting pretty good.

walkindude plays guitar. if we can get him to go accoustic and learn flat pick he could join us. he plays bass already so he could always do that if he doesn't want to learn flatpickin.

we need a singer, maybe smokygirl or azimuth coordinator. they dig bluegrass.

I've been playing guitar for years and the flattop is all I've ever played. My daughter asked for an electric guitar for her birthday in February and I can't wait to play with her present. LOL

My nephew got an accoustic bass for christmas maybe I'll borrow it for a TT outing sometime when the Dude is coming. I also sing. I have never played professionally but I have sung professionallly to include twice singing the National anthem at Charlotte Hornets games.

never mind, i found it.

take Highway 221 north until it intersects with N.C. 183. Turn right on N.C. 183 and continue 1 mile to Old NC 105, Kistler Memorial Highway. Trailheads and parking lots, accessing the western section of the Gorge, lead off of Kistler Memorial Highway.
