I bet you can't stick your tongue on that rail!
Lion kittens freed after freezing to rail tracks
Associated Press

HELENA - A railroad inspector and a game warden used an age old trick to free three mountain lion kittens who had frozen themselves to a railroad track near Butte. Hot water again solved the fateful combination of wet skin and cold metal, only this time it involved young paws instead of young tongues.

Pat O'Rourke was inspecting the Burlington Northern-Santa Fe main line 12 miles west of Butte Friday when he saw three kittens frozen to the tracks. One was frozen on its back and one by its tail. The third kitten had a paw stuck to a railroad spike and its belly on the track.

Apparently the young mountain lions had crossed Silver Bow Creek before walking onto the steel rails and got stuck.

When O'Rourke couldn't move the kittens with a shovel and realized they were frozen to the tracks, he tried pouring his thermos of coffee on one kitten's paw, hoping it would free the animal from the icy trap. That didn't work either.

I would have been "spooked" back into the truck also.

From the time I started Kindergarted, it never failed; some kid would always get his tongue stuck to a metal door at school.

- enjoy the day lyra, nude sunbathing!

- On a trip not to be named, I went to spit on my MSR stove connection that attaches to the fule bottle and the square thingamajig got STUCK to my tongue! I had to rip the thing off my tongue and it bled like crazy! Took the top layer of skin in two spots off my tongue too! It's all healed up now, but trust me... don't try to spit on the MSR stove fuel connection in really cold weather!

Nooooooo... it was the stove! LOL

Be sure to have a phillips screwdriver handy in case you have to discinnect the fuel line... so you won't have the Whole Stove stuck to your face.

(hey - you're supposed to drool on your gear FIGURATIVELY, <sheeesh>)

What if I soaked a mug in liquid nitrogen for a few minutes? I guess it wouldn't be too bad if the method for unsticking one's self was to soak with beer....
