I've been headin' over to the beautiful Pacific coast quite a bit lately. I love evenings on the rugged coastline and evenings on the beach. Here's a few shots from the last couple weekends.

This first one is from Point Reyes National Seashore, where I saw Sally selling she seals. WAIT, I screwed that up. I saw Silly shelling sea swells. SHoot, close enough, you know what I mean. No, I didn't ask Peter Piper how many pecks of pickled peppers he had picked, but I did see Betty Botter walk by, she was on her way to buy a bit of better butter since she said her batter was bitter. I just waved. She seems nice, and she looks purdy darn good in a thong bikini. Anywho, I took this particular photo with my camera.

Let's try that again, Buckaroo

Although the air was calm, the ocean seemed a little disturbed at something. I didn't mind, a pissed-off ocean is much more dramatic. This scene was taken on the Sonoma Coast a couple weekends ago. Certainly not ideal conditions for body surfing, although the great white sharks just off shore wouldn't have minded.

It was an odd evening, rather surreal and other worldly. The colors were bland and there was a gloomy feel in the air. This cove seemed a good place for pirates to hang out. I didn't see any though. The ocean would go from calm to building monstrous waves very quickly, and sent them crashing into the rocks, sending plumes of water a couple dozen vertical feet into the air. Here it was pretty calm.

I thought it was especially beautiful the way the crashing waves would rapidly retreat back to the ocean. I did a long exposure on this wave, which had just pummeled this rock, and the long exposure silked out the cascading surf as it retreated.

Last uno

Last one, I have a date tonight and it's later than I freakin' thought! I hafta think up of an excuse. How 'bout my dog ate my underwear? No, I gotta do better than that. This last shot is from Point Reyes National Seashore, it's a long exposure post sunset which sorta gives the water a misty look. In actuality that cove was pretty dang choppy. Okay people, GET WILD AND CRAZY THIS WEEKEND! I'm ouddy.
