The message board, or is there a chat room? I checked the message board, there's nothing new there. I can't chat at work. I'd get fired.

Shoot me some e-mail, Buddha!

Actually, I was very surprised to find a turkey on the table on Thanksgiving. My Step-mom-in-law invited a guest who's a "finicky eater" so my father-in-law had to postpone the goat until the day after thanksgiving, (when all normal people eat thanksgiving leftovers).

So, we ate goat Friday and Saturday. Friday it was tough as cheap steak but had a pretty good flavor,(it was marinated). It is a bit stringy though. Saturday it was better, more tender. I'd eat it again if I were hungry enough. ;)

Goat is best when marinated for a long time. Long, slow braising (aka stewing)makes it really tender too.

Sass, I received your package today! Thank you so much. I forgot about the pants, so it was an extra treat. They fit nicely so they will travel to Isle Royale. They've been there before I bet. :-D I'm wearing the boots right now. So far so good.

Thank you so much for your generosity!!!!! I owe you!

lol birch & RL.

Nothing Sass (OK I confess, I'm making my next banjo) just brousing wood sites to see the differences in grain and their patterns.

Check out this Curly Maple, the wood of my new (but unfinished) resonator and neck...

Birch gave me some of his wood last night and you should see how he can twist it! Sassafras stood right there too and watched him give it to me while I asked questions.

FYI
As I was browsing the Campmor catalog tonight, I saw this: http://www.campmor.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?partNumber=87629&memberId=12500226

It's a preschool-sized backpack. I remembered that on the N. Manitou trip you asked where I had found Luke's little backpack. I measured Luke's pack, and the dimensions are similar.
