That's a cute dog! A very small dog, but still, a cute dog nonetheless. On my screen the dog looks to be, oh, about 1" tall.

That's cuz I didn't wanna take up a whole page with her pic. She is really only about 8 inches tall anyways...but still, she is big in her mind.

DIGBY!

My 6 month old retriever loves everyone and everything. She runs right up to meet and greet all people and dogs alike. She'll streak right up to a 200 dog and try to play without a thought. Jackies are a totally different story. She stands back and looks at me like, "What the hell is his problem?".

Great little hikers. I ran across a bunch of horse packers and their little 8 month Jackie was not only keeping up but he was still bouncing up and down while the horses rested.

Since nobody has EVER seen a photo of my dogs, here they are! :^D

I'll hike with anything. Growing up our family had a poodle. It was really my sister's poodle. Her name was Ginger. I used to toss Ginger in my truck and take her on crazy trips with me. Here's a couple shots of Ginger on some Desolation Wilderness summits. The first one is Ginger on top of Dick's Peak with the wind blowin' into her face, and the second one is on the summit of Pyramid Peak, the highest peak in Desolation at just under 10,000'. As someone commented to me on this trip, "that must be one of those rare mountain poodles I've heard about". I could be wrong, but I doubt many poodles have summitted Pyramid Peak. Life is good®.

do you think they make backpack for itty bitty turtles?

I have tried numerous dog backpacks over the years. Some shredded on brush and rocks too easily, some didn't seem to balance very easily, some weren't big enough, etc. I have found my favorite doggy packs to be made from a company called Wolf Packs®. They rock. No, REI doesn't sell them, and I feel guilty when I'm working at REI and am asked what dog packs I use, because I cannot tell a lie and I have never chopped down a cherry tree. Although there are many fine dog backpacks out there, I highly recommend Wolf Packs®. They're not cheap though. Heidi and Sierra wear the beefy Banzai model, which is made from ballistic nylon. It would take a nuclear-tipped cruise missile to even put a scuff mark on it. How do I know? Heidi took a direct hit from a nuclear-tipped cruise missile while wearing her pack in a remote Sierra basin. The government told me to remain hush-hush about it. This is the first time I've broken the silence. Uh ohhh, there goes my shoe phone. Gotta run, can't say why. *poof*

You can trim about 99% of the pack with scissors to make them fit a teeny wittle turtle.
