“BTW. Use Hotels.com and they have lots of rooms left with two beds. If you call the hotel they don't book those rooms.

i haven't confirmed my flight yet because i wanted to see when you were going back to the city....you are staying friday night at the creekside and returning on saturday?? if so, maybe i can catch a ride back with you since kathy says that she is going right back after the hike....

“Phil: I think the comment on crampons is a joke - you can carry them if you want to. I don't believe I'm going to carry crampons because I don't want the extra weight if I don't need it. People have been getting over some of the high passes in the southern Sierra since Memorial Day (snow melted fast this spring). We crossed Silliman Pass (just over 10,000 feet) on the west over Memorial Day (trail was pretty clear).

4th of July weekend we're going into Humphrey Basin from North Lake, so I should be able to get a good idea of conditions up in the Bishop area.”

“Ok people, I am trying to find a trip that will take me. I had a trip in 2 weeks planned with my brother, but he had to drop out. So I am jonesing for a great trip. Is there still room for one more left-coast, southerner? Does someone have a place on their permit?

If there is room, I am about 90% in right now. I would still have to get all the travel logistics planned.”

“Matt, I wouldn't sorry about the permit. Apply for one going in the 11th with the 10th as a backup. Or you could wait for the dropping out to start. The alternative is, "Yes, Mr. Ranger, I'm on wingdings' permit. Or is it Rockmans'? We met on the internet. They're up there, or is it back there?"
