I ain't backpacking this weekend, but I am spending the weekend in Yosemite Valley. There's a storm heading through there and I wanna try and get some good storm pics. Plus there should be some fall colors still lingering. I love that place when there's snow on the rim and lots of misty clouds rising up El Cap from the valley floor as the storm clears. Heck, I love that place ANY time. Hope everyone has a great weekend! It's all about the wilderness! YAAAAA! Over 'n out.”

“Work 12 hours Sat and 12 on Sunday. So no b-packing for me!”

“Don't feel bad. We were babysitting my grandson when my wife got up in the middle of the night in pain & vomiting. Finially convinced her to go to the hospital (an hour away) & woke my 2 1/2 yr old grandson up at 2:30am. He thought it was a great adventure. She had an intestinal blockage & stuck a tube down her nose to drain fluids for 2 days. In the mean time I'm in the Fed courthouse in NYC, Surgery in Albany....getting up at 5am & getting home at midnight. They operate on tuesday to find her intestines twisted up & attached to the abdominal wall. Right after this night, her beloved father died. I tried to get the surgeon to sign the Family Leave Act papers so I could get off work for a while & he couldn't be bothered. I walked away before I strangled him. It can only get better.”
