“I can't speak for everyone, of course, but I agree with several other posters above: I (and the guys I have hiked with) like to talk about backpacking-related stuff when backpacking. Or sports sometimes. I did talk running a fair amount with Aero while hiking w/him in Yoho. Talk about sex? Never. I would all the time with my guy friends when I was in high school, but I'm not that interested in sharing info with other guys now.

What I would really love to talk about with someone on the trail is statistics.

No problem! You can get one at The Spa located at my health club. Following that we could have a good workout, do a few miles around the indoor track, swim a couple of miles, hit the steam bath and/or Jacuzzi, and then attend class for a couple of hours. Then, after the sauna and a shower, we'll be ready to hit the trail and join the others.
