Awesome storyline, great characters, suspensful, action scenes are top notch... this movie seriously was one of the best I have ever seen. There's even a cool side story with a character who is fascinated with wildlife, which ties into the movie very smoothly. Don't want to give anything away, but if you were teetering on whether to see it or not... SEE IT. :-)” 4:59:08 PM 11/17/03 “No. Just looking forward to the last J.R.R. Tolken Movie on December 17. 8)” 5:00:08 PM 11/17/03 “Dude, I'm tellin' ya... it's an amazing movie. Your loss! But yes, the next LOTR is something grand to look forward to. :-)” 5:13:02 PM 11/17/03 “i thought it looked good in the previews, and the reviews have made me want to see it even more. im looking forward to gothika this week, that looks like it has potential, as does the taken or the kidnapped or wtf ever. that one with kate blanchett. both look like good psycho-thrillers. movies ive seen recently: matrix revolutions sucked, kill bill rocked. and like mike, altho not nearly as much, i AM hyped for lotr:rotk” 5:27:48 PM 11/17/03 “Took Cameron to see Elf on Saturday. It was pretty good overall. There was one hilarious scene that I'm sure the kids wouldn't get at all - definitely put in there for the grownups. Will Ferrell (Buddy the Elf) is running through Central Park and a news camera catches him briefly. But the way he runs over to and behind some trees and the slight shaking of the camera is made to look exactly like that old footage of Bigfoot running through a forest. Very well done, I must say!” 5:28:25 PM 11/17/03 “Just saw Matrix Revolutions. It was as much a step down from Reloaded as Reloaded was a step down from the original. Save the nine bucks and wait for the DVD.” 5:31:10 PM 11/17/03 “matrix was the perfect sci-fi fantasy movie. if this was all they could come up with, they shouldve stopped at one” 5:33:02 PM 11/17/03 “I've seen the third Matrix twice....to be honest I was dissapointed but there is an amazing fight scene between Neo and Agent Smith that is probably the greatest fight in all three of the Matrix movies. I also saw Master and Commander and i have to agree with you Artex. It was a very well put together movie. I believe the guy who was so interested in nature was Charles Darwin. I am pretty sure thats who the director tried to portray in that character” 5:37:31 PM 11/17/03 “Master and Commander Rocked.. saw it yesterday! I'm really looking forward to The Last Samuri, coming soon.” 5:40:45 PM 11/17/03 “Artex - If it comes anywhere close to Gladiator, I will see it. Thanks. Looking forward to LOTR also. Talked to a friend of mine last night who is in the movie industry. He went to a private screening Mel Gibson's, The Passion. 18 people at each screening. He sat next to Ann Coulter (for you Ann Coulter fans). He got to talk to Mel Gibson for quite a while. My friend highly recommends the movie, but cautions it is extremely true to scripture with the scourging and everything...very violent, hence the R rating. It premiers around Lent (which figures).” 5:44:15 PM 11/17/03 “looking forward to the last samurai and troy. i think the passion might be a great movie, despite ann coulter being there and probably loving it” 5:55:43 PM 11/17/03 “Me and sass took the kiddo to see "brother bear" it was a hoot!” 8:23:18 PM 11/17/03 “texas chainsaw massacre was good...lots of gore, matrix, despite what some have said was pretty good...dont ever go into a sequel or trilogy expecting it to be the equal of the first...especially of a movie of the caliber of the matrix...in my opinion it was a great ending to the trilogy...” 8:29:56 PM 11/17/03 “Shiprunner, in the books, it's not Charles Darwin. The character is a Doctor, Scientist, and Spy. And it's too early to be Darwin. Haven't seen the movie yet, hope they didn't change this around.” 8:36:35 PM 11/17/03 “i wanna see brother bear” 9:49:03 PM 11/17/03 “Cameron went to Brother Bear while I was out of town - he loved it! I still want to see it. Don't feel the need to see Cat in the Hat, though....” 9:59:45 PM 11/17/03 “The last flick I saw at a theater was Jason vs Freddy. It was pretty entertaining.” 10:01:42 PM 11/17/03 “On halloween I saw Texas Chainsaw - which was great for the night! Before that, I saw Intolerable Cruelty - another Cohen Bros. success.” 10:23:12 PM 11/17/03 Seen any?!?! We're living one in CA!. “Terminator 4 - Rise of the Political Machine, starring Arnold "The Governor" Schwartzenagger. It started today a little after 11AM is Sacramento. Sit back and see how he resolves a $30 Billion deficit, bond rating in the junk pile, and a recession-ravaged economy. No amonut of pumping iron will move the problems away, and no scriptwriter can rehab this disaster of a movie. After the celebrity fascination wears off, I think its gonna get pretty ugly for Arnold and the rest of us in California. Hope I'm wrong!” 10:27:46 PM 11/17/03 “I personally have sworn off going to the theater unless it's a huge movie like LOTR, the Matrix (shut up scoops!), or maybe Master and comander. Ya know, movies that HAVE to be seen big. I just get so damn discussed with disrespectful people who just HAVE to talk through the whole damn thing. It never fails! Every time I go I get some blabber mouth sitting behind or around me. I get up and move and end up beside some other blabber mouth.” 10:34:55 PM 11/17/03 “We enjoyed Brother Bear. Had a lot of good "one-liners".” 10:49:31 PM 11/17/03 “I Loved the Mackenzie Bros Moose.” 11:06:42 PM 11/17/03 heck, I loved the last Matrix movie “It did more to convince me of the Matrix within a Matrix theory than a thousand message boards could muster. Now I'm completely sold that Zion wasn't real in the first place and that the goal of the programs (Oracle, namely) was to rid the Matrix of the human participants. True, the humans in the pods were given a choice of whether they wanted to leave the Matrix, but whether they left it or not, they didn't REALLY leave the Matrix. Far out. Tonight I was listening to Michael Savage on the way home from work and he claimed that "Master and Commander" should have been retitled "NAMBLA Goes to Sea". I can't stand that guy, but I thought that was pretty funny. Sorry about that. I'm really looking forward to ROTK too. So far I've been ridiculously impressed with the series.” 1:35:55 AM 11/18/03 “Slack - I caught that Michael Savage review also. I wish I hadn't heard it until after I see the movie. What did he say was the quote from either Churchill or Chamberlain about the old British Navy?” 2:02:49 AM 11/18/03 “That's bunk about Savage's statement. I wonder if his own problems got in the way of that statement.” 5:58:53 AM 11/18/03 “Last time I was in a movie theater it was for Spy Kids 2, I think. I rarely see anything on the big screen besides, like, Rugrats in Paris, Pokemon 2000... Oh well. I do want to see Master and Commander, definitely. If Artex and Shiprunner say its good, two of my favorite people, it must be good. :)” 8:50:09 AM 11/18/03 I miss Carl. “I saw that Bill Murray movie a couple of weeks ago. Lost in translation, ALmost a 4 out of 5. Humor was good and clean, it did have some 'sappy' extra long footage with no dialog.” 9:08:44 AM 11/18/03 “Nigal, I always tell those people to shut up. It seems to work.” 9:13:57 AM 11/18/03 “I want to see Master and Commander. The director read the 20 book series 4x. Evidently, this movie is based on 2 of the books. I would also like to see The Passion and LOTR. Phil, have you heard that there is also a movie out about John the Baptist. It's supposed to be pretty good as well.” 10:01:28 AM 11/18/03 “I saw Elf this past weekend. As much as I hate Will Ferrell, it was a pretty cute movie. Saw Radio the weekend before that. GOOD flick! I highly recommend that one! But bring the kleenex. :)” 11:35:55 AM 11/18/03 “I saw that Radio got paid dik for his story and the week before the movie opened his family's house burnt to the ground. But because of the movie it raised a lot of money for him and his family to get a new house.” 11:44:36 AM 11/18/03 “Phil, that is majorly, majorly awesome that your friend was lucky enough to see a private screening of "The Passion." I pray that we get it in theater's here. I'm sooo pumped for it. The last movie I went to was "Brother Bear." It was lovely. Looking forward to LOTR and Elf.” 12:02:13 PM 11/18/03 “I got the platinum version of LOR. Watched 15 minutes of it this morning. Seems like the extra footage is worth the price.” 12:06:10 PM 11/18/03 “For sure Elf! I have to wait for the holidays to get the second deluxe DVD set. The first one had like 6 hours of documentary and a few hidden things as well.” 12:11:48 PM 11/18/03 “ Wolverine is a 'song & dance' man??Also --- Critic at Salon Rips 'Cat in the Hat' a New #&%!$. and I Quote --- "In the dreadful new big-screen version of "The Cat in the Hat," as soon as the fish opens his fishy mouth to burble out a fishy warning, there's a cut to the little boy and girl he lives with (Spencer Breslin and Dakota Fanning) with the requisite amazed look on their faces, followed by the inevitable equivalent of "Hey! The fish can talk!" (Of course he can talk, you wretched little nits -- you're in a Dr. Seuss story.)"” 3:46:26 PM 11/22/03 “I heard Gothica was really good.” 3:53:10 PM 11/22/03 “"The Missing" looks like it could be a good one also.” 3:55:27 PM 11/22/03 “Not much good at the theater these days. Go to you local video store and rent the original Oklahoma. Still a great movie, and Shirley "Mrs. Partridge" Jones was a hottie at 19 yrs old when she starred in it! Need a thriller? Try some Hitchcock movies: Vertigo, North by Northwest, Psycho, Spellbound. Or some outdoor-themed movies? Cliffhanger, K2-the Ultimate High (tacky but great scenery).” 5:43:48 PM 11/22/03 “I always had a crush on Mrs. Partridge. :)” 5:58:45 PM 11/22/03 “for a rental get "levity" with Morgan Freeman,Kirsten Dunst,Billy Bob Thornton. Great story.” 9:17:02 PM 11/22/03 “i want to see gothika and i pretty much hate anything with mike myers (except waynes world)” 9:19:49 PM 11/22/03 “shrek was good, also (tho over-rated)” 9:23:49 PM 11/22/03 “Bruce Almighty was really good. Rent it!” 11:36:05 PM 11/22/03 “Gothica was filmed in Montreal...hoorah...part of it or all of it. Halle Berry had her arm broken in the making of this film.” 12:13:35 AM 11/23/03 Been to the Movies Lately? “nope” 12:15:21 AM 11/23/03 “I saw Kill Bill when it came out. But before that...it would have to of been "The Two Towers". Was that last X-mas?” 12:20:01 AM 11/23/03 “'Bad Santa' looks funny.” 12:56:07 AM 11/23/03 “Bad Santa looks like it's not going to be released..” 4:36:27 AM 11/23/03 “bad santa loooks effing hilarious "you got some lip on you, midget" why do you say it might not be released, slacker?” 7:38:31 AM 11/23/03 Rum, Sodomy, and The Lash “Well, two out of three ain't bad. I saw "Master and Commander" Monday afternoon. Great movie. If you're a history or maritime buff, go see it.” 9:22:17 AM 11/26/03
