A father watched his daughter playing in the garden.
He smiled as he reflected on how sweet and innocent
his little girl was. Suddenly she
just stopped and stared at the ground. He went over to
her and noticed she was looking at two spiders mating.

"Daddy, what are those two spiders doing?" she asked.

"They're mating," her father replied.

"What do you call the spider on top, Daddy?" she
asked.

"That's a Daddy Longlegs." Her father answered.

"So, the other one is a Mommy Longlegs?" the little
girl asked.

"No," her father replied. "Both of them are Daddy
Longlegs."

The little girl thought for a moment, then took her
foot and stomped them flat. "Well, that might be OK in
California, BUT we're not having any of that #&%!$ in
Texas "

A prayer for the sinners.
The Presidential Prayer Team is currently urging us to: "Pray for the President as he seeks wisdom on how to legally codify the definition of marriage. Pray that it will be according to Biblical principles. With many forces insisting on variant definitions of marriage, pray that God's Word and His standards will be honored by our government."

Any religious person believes prayer should be balanced by action. So here, in support of the Prayer Team's admirable goals, is a proposed Constitutional Amendment to codify marriage based on biblical principles:

A. Marriage in the United States shall consist of a union between one man and one or more women. (Gen 29:17-28; II Sam 3:2-5)

B. Marriage shall not impede a man's right to take concubines, in
addition to his wife or wives. (II Sam 5:13; I Kings 11:3; II Chron 11:21)

C. A marriage shall be considered valid only if the wife is a virgin.
If the wife is not a virgin, she shall be executed. (Deut 22:13-21)

D. Marriage of a believer and a non-believer shall be forbidden. Gen 24:3; Num 25:1-9; Ezra 9:12; Neh 10:30)

E. Since marriage is for life, neither this Constitution nor the
constitution of any state, nor any state or federal law, shall be
construed to permit divorce. (Deut 22:19; Mark 10:9)

F. If a married man dies without children, his brother shall marry the widow. If he refuses to marry his brother's widow or deliberately does not give her children, he shall pay a fine of one shoe. (Gen. 38:6-10; Deut
25:5-10)

Was watching ER last night and it was heart wrenching. the storyline is this...the head doctor is a lesbian and she has a wife. The wife has a child with her. the wife is a fireman(woman) and died. Not only did she lose her wife but the wife's family took her son from her.

I have no problem admitting I'm a sensitive guy and it did move me to near tears. I'm sure this happens a lot in real life and I see it as one more issue for the pro side.

OK, now feel free to call me a little bltch.

This is key to the problem, Nigal (not picking on you, just making a point). Why should you, as a male, be subject to being called a little #&%!$ just because you recognize and sympathize with inequality? F()k the moral majority...they are the same people who bullied rest of us in high school because they couldn't think for themselves.

Man, I feel like a woman!
South Dakota politician plans to undergo a sex change
Associated Press

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - After getting involved in a fight in the Legislature over a bill to ban civil unions, Tom Murphy decided to reveal a secret he had kept for four decades, through school, an Air Force career and then as a member of the City Council:

He feels more like a woman than a man.

In fact, he plans to undergo a sex-change operation. Tom will become Marla.
Murphy said he has known since he was 18 that he wanted what is called gender reassignment surgery. But he feared that if people found out, they might try to blackmail him or discriminate against him. He said when people talked about male and female issues, he would run away because he was afraid he might say the wrong thing.

He revealed his secret after getting involved in a fight in the 2004 Legislature against a proposed state law that would have banned civil unions and domestic partnerships.

Murphy testified in February at a hearing on the bill and wrote a series of letters that appeared in the Rapid City Journal. He eventually disclosed his secret in a letter to the editor and an interview with a local paper.

He said he made his decision after someone expressed hatred of gays in a letter to the editor. "I said it's time for me to make him quiet, just put him to rest and let him know I'm around and where I stand," he said.

Murphy was born in Arkansas and served 22 years in the Air Force - much of that at Ellsworth Air Force Base near Rapid City - before retiring in 2000. He was appointed to fill a vacancy on the City Council in 2000 and then won elections in 2001 and 2003.

"It goes back 40-plus years that I've had this in me, that I've had the wants to be a female," he said. "It just got stronger and stronger as time progressed."

"Gender reassignment"? Hmmmm

I hope all the practicing homosexuals in this country pick up and move en mass to Mass and get married and stay there. That would be cool. I also hope Mass doesn't discriminate against group marriages and incestual marriages and I hope a bisexual who wants to marry isn't forced to choose one sex or the other, they can marry both sexes at once. It'll be a sexual haven for those who want marriage to mean anything they want with no discrimination whatsoever and they live happily ever after.

Hopefully, if gay marriage remains legal in Mass., people will see that nothing bad happens and realize that gay marriage does not mean the end of marriage. I'm hopeful, but christianity in all its evil can be a very persuasive force on people.

I don't have any problem with any of this except that they waived the standard 3 day waiting period.
That is special treatment, one of the things this was fought over. And don't you need a blood test?

It's chit like this that gets me going. You really have a problem, "man". I do not know what breeds people like you, you intollerant mother phucker.

Get enlightened, your "God" has failed you. You are a disgrace to other good Christians out there.

laqtis, apparently you wish to discriminate against those who have a different view of marriage than you, such as consenting incestual lovers, or a bisexual wanting to marry both sexes at once, or a polygamist wanting to marry many consenting people at once. It's their constitutional right to love and pursue happiness as they please and we should not let YOUR personal moral constraints stop them if you think it's icky. You sound like a bigot, laqtis. Open your mind to what marriage may mean to others different than you.

What's so unbelieveable, is that the Feds don't want this to happen. There missing out on a lot of revenue by not allowing "gay marrage". Hell, if we were able to recoup all that kind of cash, we could stay in Iraq....LONG TIME!
laqtis
3:51:30 PM
5/17/04

laqtis, I'm not sure why you want to discriminate against consenting adults who fall in love with a family member, or a bisexual not wanting to choose one sex over the other since they love both. You want to legally deny them basic sexual urges to marry? And I don't know what it is about polygamists you want to discriminate against and force your view that ONLY two hetero or homo couples should have the right to marry. Where's that stated in the Constitution? Aren't they covered by the Constitution too? You should be more open minded and accepting and not deny them rights to love and marry pursue happiness as they see fit.

Buck, they can lobby for marriage like any other group. But, with no popular support (and plenty of evidence of harm, depending on the arrangement), it won't go very far. With gays, though, no one can show the harm, and there's growing public support.
Mutt

It is interesting though. Exactly how WILL the government draw the line? How WILL it stop with just gay marraige? Can they extend the right to marraige to gays and not the other groups?

5/17/04

What groups, Nigal? Shouldn't a govt evolve with the people? Are there not enough who think homosexuality is OK that this is a natural course? Isn't this how women got the right to vote? How slavery ended?

Wait - why should the govt say "homosexuals shouldn't marry"?
