In a 4-3 court ruling, the fight for civil rights get a victory over the obstructionist moralists.

And Phaedrus, I would further specify them as being "moral absolutists" or "moral extremists", or "religious fvcks", as the moral thing to do, obviously, would be to allow gays to marry.

My 22 year marriage is a civil one(ha ha!).

That option should be available to anyone.

I was just watching an interview with a woman from the Family Research Council who tells me that marriage is a sacred union between one woman and one man.

Wow. Sure glad she told me that/i>! We almost messed up and gave human rights to sodomites!

Whew!

Finally, a move foreward. This has become such a tiring issue, like abortion. We need to get past this line of "anti-gay" thinking. It does us no good to spin our wheels on this. There are enough unwanted children out there that these people would love to take care of, in a family atmosphere. And with the divorce rate at 50%, the argument of the "traditional" family looses steam.

"Ah, you're sharp today."

I took my gingko.

Laqtis, I'd have to agree. I'm wondering where all our TT social conservatives are? They don't want to weigh in on this issue? Or do they realize thqat this is an area where the right is wrong?

I could care less if some one marries an elephant! It's the agenda I'm against. A couple of years ago some concerned parents
taped a standard school class about homosexuality. The teachers
were explaining how to get off and
the best way to learn was to hook
upwith older people. The parents
group compained and immediatedly
suppressed by gay groups and the
liberal courts. Right here in Mass.

Our family has full scale gatherings once or twice a year.

Shortly after a nephew came out of the closet, we had such a gathering. The men-folk were all standing around the cooker giving (a yet to arrive) Chris pure hell about his recent announcement ala sexual orientation.

I stood up for Chris, avering that I was just as obligated to love him as much as the "mens" kids. I love all my nieces and nephews unconditionally.

Chris has some really really cool friends. I enjoy their company. They're hillarious, one and all.

But marriage? Gimme a break, k?

And ADOPTION?! Good grief, man! Review your Developmental Psychology. Poor kiddie-poos.

There are much worse places for a kid to end up than in a gay household, in general. In fact, I'd go so far to say that a loving household, gay or straight, is equally good for the development of children.

the outer most suburbs of Boston,
Sexual offenders love my State.
because of the laws protecting them. That is one of the latest
of the buzz in the local news.

No, Just what I've bee reading in the local papers. That was last weeks story. This week is about a
State sex offender prison at Bridewater. The prisoners are allowed to leave the prison for a the whole day except Sunday.I guess there is in expose on violent offenders who get free liscense that sometimes end in murder.

Why do so many people automatically go from homosexual straight to child molester and sex offender and equate the three as one?
Nigal

I'm not sure what your gettin at.
The last story was about a homosexual who murdered a straight
guy for not puttin out. There is a
priest involved too.
ElfScream

How many straight guys have killed women for not putting out? Your making this a savage homosexual crime rather than just a savage crime. This makes as little sense as saying that when someone kills a gay it is a hate crime, but when they kill a straight person, it isn't.
Nigal

Because they are taught that the three are the same thing. I can't begin to tell you how many times I've heard the three terms used interchangeably for the pulpit.

I have no links or data to back this up, and I don't know the percentages, but IMHO most homosexuals did NOT result from being brought up by homosexuals. They come from straight, loving, whole families. They come from broken, loving homes. They come from abusive homes of all kinds. Like everyone else.

My heterosexual parents did not impose their sexuality on me. What they did teach me was how to love, not who to love.

My favorite cousin was gay, and died of AIDS years ago. He was raised in a loving, two-parent heterosexual home. I loved him for himself. I regret his bad partner choices, but not who he was.

I'm not sure I believe in gay marriages or even adoption by gays. But I don't believe it would result in a whole raft of kids "brought up gay".

I say go for it - do your own thing, whatever prikes yer prick.

But please, don't expect me to acknowledge you as husband and husband, or whatever.

There's a reason that 96% of humans are not gay...

Confession time:
The years were circa 1972, 73, 74. His name was Mike Gray. His grandparents had a cabin at the lake where I was raised. We became bestest summertime friends.

I was invited to spend the week with his family at their house an hour or so away. One day, Mike dressed in drag and walked around the neighborhood. That's when/where we diverged.

He later moved near his grandparents, and enrolled at my old school. I had moved away the previous year.

He befriended numerous people - the one's I would have foretold, no doubt. Jeff Harper, (?) Black, et al.

By 1990, they were all dead. I'd say six total. AIDS. May God rest their souls.

Three or so years ago, I popped into an Atlanta gay bar. The karaoke(sp?) was astonishing. Two guys did a duet that was unbelievably spectacular - they had the whole place on their feet, including me. They rocked the house.

I met a guy there that was dying of AIDS. I eventually embraced him. I wept for him. He was a good man. I'm sure he's dead by now.

I wouldn't wish homosexuality on my worst enemy. It's a dreadful burden to bear.

But marriage? It's just another extension of our societies ever growing demands for entitlement.

Hey, I feel that I'm entitled to grow a cannibis patch, but try to run that by the court, hmmm?

BTW -
To a large percentage the 96% of our populace who are not homosexual, homosexuality is a form of perverted, sodomistic, molestageness.

Some folks pigeon hole homosexuals with pedifiles, etc. In their eyes, one is as bad as the other. They have a point, to a certain degree. I don't fault them. In fact, I say good for them in forming a principle and standing by it...

... now where'd I put those E-Zees?

A few points:

#1) Elf got the news story wrong.

#2) I teach Developmental Psychology. There is no science to back up Gojo's claim ("nd ADOPTION?! Good grief, man! Review your Developmental Psychology. Poor kiddie-poos.")

#3) Sure there are homosexual men who have screwed up attitudes towards sex and society and people. I like what Dan Savage said to the effect that it doesn't make any more sense to tell 16 y/o boys to trust middle aged y/o gay men who hit on them and think of them as allies and liberators, than it makes sense to tell 16 year old girls the same thing about middle aged straight men.
