“Camping at Stage Road will be no fun because campfire aren't allowed because there is a fire risk because of the damn pine beetle.

Some dilhole called the Savage Gulf rangers a lot and told them we were bringing an invading force the size of Saddam's 1990 army.

They were okay with this until they heard about the beer.

They now plan to search every on the Savage Station side with latex gloves and vaseline, so because of this plans have been changed to camp at Collins West Friday night, Sawmill Saturday night, and hike out to Savage Station (hopefully bypassing Ranger George and his vaseline) on Sunday.

Father Goose and I aren't camping at Savage Station Thursday night, and where we are camping is a Soviet State Secret.

The forecast has turned and it now looks like rain for this coming weekend, so we are all bringing swimgear.

“All roads leading to Collins West will be opening at all times. There is plenty of firewood at StageCoach campsite. I was there a few weeks ago and had a fire. There is also plenty of water in the area also.”

I haven't talked to the Ranger, but here's the new plan.

Friday night: Group camp at Collins West. Spillover to Collins East.
Saturday night: Permit where you want/are allowed. I suspect this will be a mixture of Saw Mill and Stage Road and possibly Savage Falls.

My plan: Arrive at Collins West about 8 am on Friday. Hike in, setup camp, drive to Savage Ranger Station for earlier decided on meeting at 9am. Shuttle vehicles to Stone Door. Hike to Collins West and hang out with everyone. Saturday, I'm hiking to Saw Mill and exploring the rest of the day. Sunday, hike back to Savage Falls and then help retreive vehicles.

Permit as you please since it's first come first serve. Out!”

visit with old friends????..TC3 was great.....backpacking ...cooking ....sharing ideas and making new friends...I love backpacking...but I also love the social side of it.....being a woman, I don't like to go alone.....and TT has created a way for me to meet others who love to backpack.....”
