“If you lived in OC (Orange County, California) you'd know the show is pretty much BS. The only association between trees and lawyers is that paper is made out of trees (the "paper chase"). While there are rich areas, a percentage of the population is poor. Not many people living in big houses overlooking the beach, either. By the way, the house they use in the show is NOT in Orange County but just north in Los Angeles County. Go figure!”

I, too, had no clue what "The O.C." was. And, true dat, it's a new 90210. The poor daughter announced at the celebrity benefit on a yacht that her mom and the benefactor dude were screwing around. The divorced-dad-thinking-he-was-winning-mom-back was crushed!!!
