Used Mountaineering Gear

“Has anyone used this used gear site,NEice,to buy gear?”

“Nope. Sounds interesting though. I'd hesitate only because ebay seems more secure and structured. Less chance of getting burnt.”

“I just posted a thread about the Salomon SM Lite boots I bought Dare from NEice. The service was great - no complaints. Not used stuff though.”

“BB - Two kids. 14 yr old boy & 6 yr old boy. The 14 yr old is who gets most of the good gear(instead of me).”

“I don't mind buying used backpacking gear, but when it comes to climbing gear, I want to know the history of the gear since my life (and the life of my buddies) will be dependent upon it. Ropes, beeners, toilet paper, etc., I would never buy used.”

“If you look at the site you'll see most of the gear(but not all)is not climbing gear(ropes/beeners/harnesses), but mountaineering clothing type stuff(parkas/gloves/boots). I didnt look far enough to check for rubbers or toilet paper - but if thats yer bag there's always e-bay like Buddha Bear points out.

Thanks for pointing that out for me Manuka - rubbers were not involved in the conception of any of my kids.
