Elder abuse
Elder Abuse is punishable under federal law. These cases will be punishable under the full extent of the law.

This includes death threats, threats of bodily injury, financial exploitation, sexual abuse (references made on asodomy) among many more, mental abuse. Gee I think they were all covered. Besides the fact that threats on the telephone and computer are federal offences anyway.

The Elder Abuse Vertical Prosecution Program is an Office of Criminal Justice Planning (OCJP) grant-funded program that began in August 2000. The program consists of one full-time prosecutor and one half time investigator who handle all felony cases of elder and dependent adult abuse falling within Penal Code section 368, which includes physical, mental and financial abuse, as well as neglect cases. The Elder Abuse prosecutor files all cases where an elder or dependent adult is the victim of a crime. The misdemeanor section prosecutes cases filed as misdemeanors, with the assistance of the Elder Abuse prosecutor. The program is assigned as part of the Special Assault and Child Abuse unit. In addition, the program works closely with victim advocates who are specially trained to work with the victims of these crimes.
The District Attorney's Office has taken the lead in many areas related to elder abuse.

We have recently started a Sac FAST team that brings together many different agencies and private citizens to help elderly victims of financial abuse where the cases are complex. We started the first Elder Death Interdisciplinary Review Team in the nation. The team reviews closed cases of elder death that are suspicious or warrant further scrutiny, and we sponsored legislation to make EDRT's reports confidential.
Our MDIC staff is also specially trained to assist law enforcement with interviewing elder and dependent adults who have been the victims of crimes.
We participate in monthly MDT meetings that bring together law enforcement and social service groups who deal with the elderly, in order to discuss problems and issues related to the elderly.
Sacramento County has established an Elder Shelter, which, once open, will provide elderly victims of crime short-term safe housing while other housing or services are arranged. This will be one of the first such shelters for elderly in the country.
Finally, our Victim Advocates provide outreach, support and education to elders and dependent adults who have been victims of crime, including assistance with obtaining emergency protective orders.
Both victim advocates and the Elder Abuse prosecutor are available to make presentations about elder abuse. If you are interested in learning more about Elder Abuse, please contact Deputy District Attorney Sheri Greco at (916) 874-6699, or by e-mail at ElderAbuse.DA@saccounty.net.

Elder abuse is the abuse of a (usually elderly) dependent adult from someone who is acting as a live-in caregiver or something of the sort.

I don't believe that was the case here, although I'm sure an ambulance-chaser would be happy to take your money and tell you whatever you want to hear.

It's not the end of the story, it never is. You are just going to go on and on and on about this ad nauseum. Despite all of your statements to the contrary about how you won't post here anymore.

Wasn't this whole thing started because Free thought you might have been trolling and you flipped out on her? And what have you been doing lately? Trolling.

I guess Free24 was right.

You know how people warn you about crazies on the Internet....

I've been online for over seven years, interacted with what must be hundreds of people, but you win the booby prize Hands Down. Congratulations.

You scared off all the other psychos! What happened to Ohio Hiker and Alaska? Our regular run-of-the-mill nut-jobs ran off when you hit the scene. I've never seen anything like it. They saw your act and RETIRED on the spot.

You are a true gentleman!

Now that the family pictures of daughter dearest are off the wall........ I'm filling my house with signed Thomas Kincaid prints. I went to Placerville the other night and bought some beauties at his annual "Hubitat for Humanity" sale. One is a beautiful cabin scene on a lake with autumn colors. The other is a house with a snowman, and the last is a farm house at a winery in Apple Hill. All very beautiful!

There was 'a friend of a friend' involved in a somewhat similar altercation once... nasty threatening messages on answering machines and the like. I asked a close relative who worked in law enforcement about possible remedies and he said, "Let me know when they get to the rock-throwing stage."

They never did - and the whole thing blew over pretty quickly.

Of course, they weren't related in any way so there were no longterm repercussions to consider...

Not true, look at the law, age 65 or older, or a person that can't care for themselves. IT doesn't have to be both.

And, I already gave my statement to the District Atty's Office.
