Sarah and I went last weekend, and we both had a blast, so we went again last night.”

Went sledding over at Hidden Valley in RMNP the other day and now my insides hurt! Those hills hurt!”

“I was just reading your Shining Rock trip report from a few years ago. That looks like a pretty good route and I have a few questions.

Do you have to get special permission to park at the Boy Scout Camp? What were the temps and bugs like at the end of June?”

“that's a great trip.

You do not need any special permission that I'm aware of. The camp is really only operating during the June - August timeframe, but other weekends they might have events there. It would be wise to let the camp ranger know your there - he'd appreciate it. His cabin is just above the camp before you see the dining hall. I drove thru the camp and parked on the roadside just off the camp property itself. But camp was in session when i was there.

Temps at the end of June would hit the 90's at their height, but in the trees and up high it won't be that hot. Bugs can be bad, but i wouldn't be too awful concerned about them. A little Off and you should be fine.
