I'd like to just take a driving tour down thru New Mexico and into AZ, then back up thru Utah and across to get home. Never seen that part of the country.

Maybe that could be the start of a good formula for us to think about. I want to go back to the Painted Desert. Nora will love it. There are four loops along the 20 mile stretch through the park. They are all approximately 1/2 - 1 1/2 miles each. It would make a great day trip to take the car from the top and hit each one along the way, culminating in the Petrified Forest.

Marie can tell you allllll about the Petrified Forest! She lived there for a time.

Cool. I loved that place. So, does a trip like that entice you at all?

yeah, it actually does. Thats the kind of trip I could take sarah on too - she likes seeing new places and exploring. And, if I can take her, its a lot easier for me to pull off the trip too.

I was very dissapointed by the petrified forest. All the trees have obviously been stolen.

Bear, did you get that royalty check from the Xmas album sales?

;)

I dunno. I was there in '97. Seemed very barren if I recall correctly.

Tree - no royalty check yet. Should I stop holding my breath? :D

It would probably be more comfortable that way!

"Cream" does not belong in beer, especially in Stout.

Just got my 12 bottles of MOOSE DROOL! Suckers cost me 45 bucks! Had to order them from online, and the shipping cost more than the beers.

I like it though. A brown ale with a little bite to it.

Dang! Almost $4 a beer.
It better be damn good at that price.

The benefits of NOT being a lush:

1. You can afford to drink expensive beer because you don't need large quantities.

2. You are sober enough you can savor the flavor as it cascades across your tongue.

3. You don't have to worry about drinking the "diet" version because you don't drink so much that calories become an issue.

For the hearty drinker, a link was posted recently: http://www.thebeerbelly.com/

Ah, the Foster's oil can, 25.4 fluid ounces.

I have just polished one off. It has made me quite drunk. Yay.

Anybody know if Foster's has more alcohol (hic) than American beer?

Depends on the beer. I need to make a trip up to Lake Placid to get a couple growlers.

"Expedition Brewing, Himalayan Style"
By Joel Attaway, Forty Below Ltd

Summer 1996
Brew Altitude:15,500
Location: Mountain: Cho Oyu 26,906 Himalayas, Ra Chhu Valley, Near Nangpa La, using spring melt water from the Gyabragg Glacier.

Glacier Participants:
On Site Brewers: Eric Simonson, John Race, International Mountain Guides, Pemba Sherpa.
Development and Technical Support: Joel Attaway, Forty Below, Ltd.

One of the most appreciated toasts is for the accomplishment of a personally significant mountaineering summit! Expeditions that last a few months require that you take everything you need. Making beer on these long expeditions may be the only choice you have to be able to enjoy this luxury! This is especially appreciated when the country or location visiting is remote....
