I just saw an interesting study by the University of Michigan's Institute for Social Research.

http://www.umich.edu/news/index.html?Releases/2003/Nov03/r111703

It basically says that 46 percent of Americans attend church/religious services at least once per week, much higher than almost all other industrialized nations - even Canada.

It says that 58 percent of Americans think about the meaning of life regularly. Again, this is much, much higher than most industrialized countries.

This has to play some role in the current divide between the US and Europe.

Very interesting. I do wonder if the study included such countries as Saudi Arabia and other 'developing' countries that are Muslim. Heck, when the Emmum strikes up the call to prayer they all stop and kneel for prayer.

Does going out and backpacking, surfing, jogging, on a regular basis count? If so, then I'm one of the most religious persons around.

Lets all join hands around the pot of holy spring water being heated by the MSR flame of life . . .

Hey... People can believe whatever they want (or not). As long as they keep it to themselves, I'll return the favor, <G>

Me? I'm still 'processing'.
