Not looking good in central NM. Dry storms only. We need a wet one. Gotta go to Northern NM, Southern CO to see much, and it is sparse there.

Between now and tomorrow night we should get our first big snowfall in the mountains. They have had a few inches above 6000 a few times, but forecast is for 6-8 inches around 2000 over the weekend.

Talk about your good timing.

No, I'm just going to let it loose in the neighborhood. It'll be a free-range snow thrower.

The Catskills only got an inch or two as of 8:30am Sunday morning. I like plowing snow from the heated comfort of my vehicle. Of course the driveways are a little longer & the drifts a little higher in the mountains. I've buried my jeep more then once. Made good use of that 8,000 lb winch mounted on front.

We've had several more inches in the last hour. It's got to be pushing 2 feet by now.

I'm going to call and complain that the Sunday paper wasn't delivered yet.

OK. So I didn't imagine it. From the National Weather Service:

...INTENSE SNOWFALL RATES SLOWLY MOVING EASTWARD THIS MORNING...

SNOWFALL RATES OF 2 TO 3 INCHES PER HOUR WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE REGION THIS MORNING. THE HEAVIEST BAND OF SNOW CONTINUES TO SLOWLY MOVE EASTWARD AND OVERSPREAD NEARLY ALL OF NEW JERSEY. SOME REPORTS OF 4 INCHES PER HOUR SNOWFALL RATES HAVE BEEN RECEIVED ACROSS PARTS OF NORTHERN NEW JERSEY THIS MORNING. ALSO, SEVERAL REPORTS OF WHITEOUT CONDITIONS CONTINUE TO BE REPORTED ACROSS THE REGION AS NORTHERLY WINDS GUST BETWEEN 30 AND 40 MPH AT TIMES.

This was about 11 am. We've had maybe an inch since then and it's still flurrying.

The snowthrower worked well. I cleared about 1/2 mile of sidewalk for the neighbors. Sorry I didn't make it over to your place BackSlacker.

Sheeyoot! You guys got five more inches of snow and your roads crews did a better job than ours.

It was impressive though. Five snow plows in a row, the last one spreading salt.

Two years ago we "vacationed" in Florida. Thought we would get away from 10 degree high temps in Chicago. It froze a couple of nights and the highs never reached 60 degrees! I feel your pain! lol

Sometimes Im almost ashamed of living in MD!!LOL The wimps plowed all the roads in North Point State Park and then locked the gate ,put a sign up that said"Closed due to incliment(sp) weather" About 10 inches of snow is all we got! Makes me wonder what they would do in an emergency ,like a tornado. People up north must be laughing at us!

We had a couple inches at my folks place in NW AL over the weekend. It was the first snow my kids (6 and 4) had ever seen. We had a blast. Sucks that it was gone by lunch on Sunday.
