PAX. Now the fight over what to do with the body. Heard that husband and parents have differences over what to do afterwards.” 9:08:35 AM 3/31/05 “He wants an autopsy...” 9:09:21 AM 3/31/05 “bury or cremation???” 9:10:03 AM 3/31/05 “Exactly Mark! How long will it take before this is old news? I give it a week.” 9:10:08 AM 3/31/05 “Cremation with burial in Pennsylvania.” 9:11:08 AM 3/31/05 “bury or cremation really doesn't matter. But lets hope the parents and her husband don't drag that part out forever.” 9:12:03 AM 3/31/05 “It doesn't necesarily matter if your religion doesn't have a preference. My understanding is that cremation was against hers. Not 100% sure though.” 9:13:18 AM 3/31/05 godspeed . . . . “Attendance at the funeral will present interesting dynamics.” 9:14:15 AM 3/31/05 “All the reports I have heard indicated the remains would be cremated.” 9:15:24 AM 3/31/05 “did I say anything about my religion? The point you missed was hoping they (read husband and parents) would not drag this out” 9:17:25 AM 3/31/05 “Ewker - Get off it. I wasn't talking about you or your religion. This is about Terri and hers. "Your" is used as a general pronoun, like "you-all" or "yaw" for southerners.” 9:30:01 AM 3/31/05 “Catholics allow cremation. I pray that Terri is at peace.” 9:32:53 AM 3/31/05 9:40:59 AM 3/31/05 “In light of recent events, do we need to just go ahead and pull HIS feeding tube now? "The use of a feeding tube for Pope John Paul II, struggling to recover from throat surgery, illustrates a key point of Roman Catholic policy he himself has proclaimed: It is morally necessary to give patients food and water, no matter their condition."” 9:43:27 AM 3/31/05 “Okay, how about jet-boil brownies?” 9:45:24 AM 3/31/05 “bury or cremation really doesn't matter. But lets hope the parents and her husband don't drag that part out forever.” Ewker 9:12:03 AM 3/31/05 ignore this user -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “It doesn't necesarily matter if your religion doesn't have a preference. My understanding is that cremation was against hers. Not 100% sure though.” Sarge 9:13:18 AM 3/31/05 sorry, that is how I read it esp since you posted right after I did. If you didn't mean it that way I apologize.” 9:56:46 AM 3/31/05 “Those wanting to give her family condolences, listen to Glen Beck on the radio if you can right now. He'll personally deliver him. (He's the one who broke this years ago when they first wanted to remove her tube.)” 9:59:39 AM 3/31/05 “* laughs at Phaedrus * lol.. lol.. not everyone is going to catch that.” 11:26:24 AM 3/31/05 “TownDawg - why do you want to pull the Popes feeding tube now ?? Why can't he use one for 15 years like Terri?? If he is still on it in 15 years, .. then yank it. and for Sarge, Which was the greater crime of Michael Schiavo :- - Pulling Terri's tube - or putting his tube in some other woman ?? I know from your perspective both are Really bad but how do the 2 rate? which was worse. From a Commandments perspective they are both in the top 10, numbers 6 and 7 to be exact, which implies that pulling the tube took precedence over putting in the tube, and neither being anywhere near as bad as polishing the BMW on the holy day which infringes on #1, #2, and #4 (Gods, Graven images, & Sabbath). Just curious” 11:57:34 AM 3/31/05 “manuka: I just thought the comparison was interesting..” 12:18:00 PM 3/31/05 “Again, I say, the Pope can still communicate. Terri Shaivo couldn't, and had no quality of life, IMO. When the Pope has no quality of life, then they should pull his feeding tube. Again, that's just my opinion.” 12:20:20 PM 3/31/05 W. gets spanked by Dad's appointee “Just in case anyone thinks that "liberal" judges are "at fault" for letting Terri die: "On Wednesday, Judge Stanley F. Birch, Jr., a conservative appointed by the former President Bush, wrote a rebuke of Bush and Congress. He said the action by the White House and lawmakers was "demonstrably at odds with our Founding Fathers' blueprint for the governance of a free people -- our Constitution." Bush's high-profile intervention also drew criticism from the public, a large majority of which was shown in polls to think it was inappropriate. There has even been a split in the conservative community, many of whom revere states' rights and the ability of families to make decisions without federal interference. All emphasis mine.” 12:31:07 PM 3/31/05 “He's obviously an activist judge, trying to legislate from the bench without regard to contex and the intent of our founding fathers... Did I leave anything out?” 12:35:09 PM 3/31/05 “TownDawg - and I was comparing HOW LONG each was receiving the same treatment. Pope - 1 week Terri - 780 weeks A little unfair to the Pope don't you think ?” 12:35:56 PM 3/31/05 “But the Pope had the Holy Feeding Tube Of Saint Bartholomew, which makes up for it.” 12:38:13 PM 3/31/05 “What does the average snake-handler have to say about this?” 12:43:03 PM 3/31/05 “That evil woman shacked up with Michael Schiavo presumably handles his snake now.” 1:07:33 PM 3/31/05 now... “comes the life after death news coverage...every news show is focused on this. ratings must be skyrocketing.” 1:15:54 PM 3/31/05 “yeah... now lets burn the body and spread the ashes so there will be no plot which would become a shrine for those on the loosing side of this arguement.” 1:22:38 PM 3/31/05 “Hopefully this thread will now die and not bother us anymore...goodbye, god bless, and good riddance...” 1:36:49 PM 3/31/05 “From KYW-AM in Philly: In Bucks County, Family Members Mourn by KYW's Paul Kurtz Word of Terri Schiavo's death has reached relatives and friends in suburban Philadelphia, where Terri grew up. In Levittown, Bucks County, Karen Schiavo choked back tears as she described her reaction to the news of her sister-in-law's death: "It is a relief but it's still hard. It's so hard. This poor girl was such a beautiful person." Schiavo remains angry about what she calls the "circus" that has taken place around the hospice in Florida and the bitter fight that took place between her side of the family and Terri's parents. She is also scared. Karen says people have been calling her home with death threats every day: "We called the schools. They're watching my kids. I don't understand how these right-to-life people want to kill you. I mean, talk about hypocrites." Karen Schiavo feels no sense of closure. She says this isn't going to be over for a long time. Terri Schiavo grew up in Huntingdon Valley, Pa. She attended Archbishop Wood High School in Warminster. KYW's David Madden reports that Karen Schiavo's husband Scott -- Michael Schiavo's brother -- got a phone call minutes after Terri’s death. He, too, is worried about what lies ahead: "Terri is free. She’s got all of her dignity back. She’s in a better place, and she’s got nobody else prodding her and videotaping her and putting her all over the country." He promises Terri privacy when her remains are returned to this area for burial, following an autopsy that will help to determine the extent of her brain damage.” 1:45:58 PM 3/31/05 “May she finally rest in peace.” 2:13:44 PM 3/31/05 “OK its time to quit beating a dead horse.....” 2:30:19 PM 3/31/05 Da Pope “Da Pope is gonna do it. He is gonna cork off on the same day. tom Brokaws head is gonna explode. The vatican has announced that he has spiked a high fever. (not brokaw . . .the pope)” 3:41:46 PM 3/31/05 going . ... .going “BREAKING NEWS Pope John Paul II has been given the last rites of the Roman Catholic Church as his health deteriorates, a Vatican source tells CNN” 3:56:22 PM 3/31/05 “But he's not dead yet. He just got last rights. I kid a lot but he was a good pope. last edited: 3/31/05 4:01:19 PM” 3:58:38 PM 3/31/05 “Well, he's only got about 5 minutes if he wants to go on the same day.” 4:01:39 PM 3/31/05 “Pretty sick, taking pleasure in the death (and potential death) of two decent people.” 4:03:11 PM 3/31/05 Whose got the trifecta “Stovie holding the trifecta . ..he is just trying to deflect so that the odds stay in his favor: MONACO -- Prince Albert has taken over the regency of Monaco because his ailing father is unable to exercise his royal functions, the palace says” 4:05:53 PM 3/31/05 “Stove -- i wish few people ill. Certinaly not terri schiavo, da pope, and prince rainier. But with regard to Schiavo and da pope. . .those are both pretty big news stories .. . .and the catholic church and right to life stuff are pretty tightly tied into the Schiavo situation .. I am not taking pleasure in it. . . . Having said that . .. .. Can't you see the waiting line for St Peter???? Da Pope: "Yo Terri, must be nice to get rid of that feeding tube . . .I only had mine for two days and it sucked." Terri: "Word!"” 4:09:04 PM 3/31/05 “This has been a lose, lose ordeal. Fox News reporting live from the hospice, Jesse Jackson showing up for who knows why. I have to think that Terri herself would be ashamed of the constant videos of her at her worst. The woman basically killed herself trying to make herself more beautiful. What a sad way to go.” 4:37:08 PM 3/31/05 “bbw, I had thought about that myself. Jesse Jackson is nothing but a media hound. He will go anywhere to get his face on TV” 4:40:02 PM 3/31/05 “all of a sudden the liberals are critical of Jesse Jackson ... LOL” 5:13:03 PM 3/31/05 “Although the media are calling it "Last Rites" for the Pope, it is actually a Rite of Healing.” 11:26:40 PM 3/31/05 Sarge “I wonder if Glen beck has incroporated the following perspective in his diatribes: "asked whether there could be eventual peace between the families. He [Michael Schiavo's brother] replied, "I think if the Schindlers apologize to him there could be." He contends the family feud began when the Schindlers didn't receive any of the $1 million Michael Schiavo won in a 1993 malpractice lawsuit stemming from his wife's condition. Terri Schiavo's father, Bob, promised to make his brother's life "a living hell," Scott Schiavo said in a CNN interview.” 7:45:15 AM 4/01/05 7:47:30 AM 4/01/05 from that blog: “Terri, I am the Barrister Bhuana K. Poltagta, administrator of the late Ms. Abala Khuana's estate. I am in need of moving $25 million offshore and will give you 30% if you can facilitate this transaction. If you can please grunt your bank account number, I will transfer the funds to you immediately. Additionally, please bat at this balloon if you agree to my terms.” 7:53:14 AM 4/01/05 “all of a sudden the liberals are critical of Jesse Jackson ... LOL” sarge 6:13:03 PM FYI, Sarge. I was critical of Jesse Jackson back in 1975 (date approximate) for referring to New York as Hymietown, an obviously inflammatory reference to our Jewish population. Haven't had reason to be too big of a fan of his since, either. So, what's that got to do with political ideology? Do ALL you conservatives think that those of us that you so kindly refer to liberals (as if we are second class citizens) are so shallow that just because he sides, generally, with the democratic party, that we are in awe of him or something like that. He's an opportunist, just like DeLay, Bush and Gephardt (just a few of the boneheads in Washington that I despise!). There! I broke party lines! last edited: 4/01/05 7:58:01 AM” 7:57:33 AM 4/01/05 “How dare you criticize Gephardt (He's no longer in Congress btw) Treebeard! Turn in your liberal credentials now!” 8:01:18 AM 4/01/05 “Treebeard, did I say all liberals? Did I mention you? Stop putting words in my mouth. /sarge” 8:02:09 AM 4/01/05 Jump to Page << prev
