the path least travelled??
Got a question for anybody whose REAL familiar with the Chimney Tops trail and connecting routes.

About halfway up, there's a crossroads of sorts...the right continues on to the Chimney Tops while straight ahead is the Road Prong trail (with a nice waterfall about a half mile on up, so I'm told.)

My question is...where does the "left" option go? Is there anything extra special (waterfall, etc.) down that path?

Just curious as I've never had the opportunity to explore that one.

one casual question - where in general are these trails?

I don't remember any 'left' trail 0.9 miles up. May just be a wide spot where people gave out.
The right does go 1.1 miles on up to the chimney tops and the 'straight ahead' 2.4 miles up to the clingmans dome road.

There used to be an old manway that connected the Chimney Tops trail to the Sugarland Mt trail, but that was up very near the top.
Did that one years ago.
