I just hold my breath until I pass out. Usually by the time I come to again, the hiccups are gone.

Does it have "eye of newt" and "wing of bat" in it?

okay, well you just stick w/that, bitpusher! ;-)

awww, that reminds me, i saw a squished newt on the road the other day, Aero...it was so sad!

well, all you do is find the hollow in your throat under your adam's apple (if you're a boy), and apply firm pressure there w/your fingers while you take as many slow, deep breaths as you need until you stop hiccuping! it works like a charm, no lie.

pinkbubelz, where'd you come from?

LOL! We're not sure if lyra is from Earth or not. She's more likely from Planet of the Apes. ;)

Pink, I'm a native Detroit suburbanite too. I grew up in Sterling Heights, live in Novi now.

Day 7
Well, I had chicken soup for dinner last night. My version of it anyway. Nyquil rocks, I had a great night of sleep. But, I woke up hungover just a bit. I'm less runny today and much more stuffy.

I've got to get better by Thursday!!

I'd swear I was dead if I didn't feel so rotten.
My head hurts, my throat is raw, my body aches, and I look like a coke head 'cause my nose is red and chapped from the kleenex abuse. Woe is me.

The lotion Kleenexes help with the Rudolph or "coke head" nose. Puffs brand are good too. With lotion and aloe. ahhhhh.

I'm luckily getting over my sickiness. I just have an annoying cough that strains my vocal chords. My throat constantly feels strained and tight and scratchy. Fun stuff.

He puked about a dozen times last night, then couldn't poop. He was walking around really slow stopping every so often trying to poop, but it just wouldn't work. Until during the night, when he left little pieces all around in different spots. Taking him to the doc today.... :-(

I feed my cats the hairball control food. Every once in a while the poop in the litter box will have cat hair on the end of it, so I guess it works. One of my cats will eat just about anything on the floor - lint and strings included. I think the hairball food keeps things moving through his system well...

Hope Mr. Hyde is ok!

I hope you feel better Mr. Hyde. Some of my cats have eaten odd things over the years, 2 of which required mineral oil enemas to dislodge. Other things had to be gently pulled out by hand. Ick.

Just back from the doc. Mr. Hyde has some sensitive anal glands, which make it uncomfortable to poop. He also has a heart murmur, which may be either serious or not. Blood was taken; results Wednesday. Hearing loss seems to be just from being old, not from any blockage or anything....

BTW, according to the chart at the vet's office, he's equivalent to an 86-year old human....

Positive thoughts for Mr. Hyde (great name for a cat).

BTW, I returned to work yesterday after being off with a broken ankle since September 2. I broke it on August 27, but was determined to continue working.

Hobbling around on crutches and stoned on codeine, I manage to fall down the stairs and break my cast.

I had an appointment with my specialist and it went like this:

'How did you break your cast?'

'I fell down the stairs.'

'Where?'

'At work.'

'Didn't the Emergency Room doctor give you a letter?.

'Yup.'

'Doug, try not to be an @$$hole, okay?'

'Yes, doctor.' (an old rugby buddy)

I decided it was stupid considering that I think I have about twenty good, active years ahead - ten of which are going to rock. Losing that because I'm too pig-headed to take the time to heal would not be bright, even by my standards.

I still came in to chatter on TT, order the stuff for our climbing wall, arrange the instructor course for the P.E. teachers and supervise my young rugby coaches on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. It's a little tougher getting through the day, but it looks like I'll come back to where I was before, but less fit for a while.

I asked the doc about physio, but he said it wasn't for people like me.

started getting a sore throat yesterday.

woke up this morning and can barely sleep. all stuffy and can barely swallow and have the fever aches.

gotta love getting sick. i get this sore throat/cold/hacking cough twice a year... usually right before summer and right before winter. guess it wanted to change up on me this time.
