I should be good to go by tomorrow. Would have been better today, but decided to push my luck and go out last night to watch the game with friends and beverages. Oh well, I'm off today so I can slum around the house.

Fought the flu all weekend through Tues (temps up to 104), which has now developed into a bad sinus infection - causing me a constant throbbing headache painkillers won't dull. Called the doc and they don't have any regular openings, waiting to hear if they can slip me in.

Owwwwwwwwwww.....

Yes, I joined the hackers and sneezers in the waiting room on Tuesday. It's a week to ten-day thing. I got anti-biotics early on, along with Mucinex to loosen the crud. It still knocked me on my butt for a week. Not sure how long I'll last today, but tomorrow will be a bit better.

Thank God, just heard back from the doctor's office and they are sending an antibiotic prescription to the pharmacy right now. No doctor visit needed. Oh I hope the stuff starts to work before bed tonight, I won't be able to sleep with this head throbbing. Off to the pharmacy, C'ya!

I'm still hacking up all kinds of stuff, but slowly getting better. I got a lovely bloody nose while out to dinner; guess I reached the point of wiping my nose too much. Yep, nothing like a bloody nose while eating barbecue! Get better everyone. The crud going around this year is pretty bad.

Slowly recovering, but it's still an obnoxious pain in the head.

I repeat, I've had relationships that didn't last this long.

Antibiotics help fight the infection, but there are other meds that will help.

Mucitrin is an over-the-counter med that loosens the gunk. Drink plenty of water with it. This is the same ingredient in Robotussin DM. Doctors formerly prescribed it as Humibid, under which name it is also sold over-the-counter. But the Humibid costs more for the exact same med.

Afrin opens the nasal passages. It is a spray. Get the 12-hour stuff and use it only twice a day. My doc said not to use it more than four days. Overuse of this med results in a "rebound" effect, in which the nose gets stopped up even worse.

Your favorite pain killer also helps at the height of it.

Nothing in the world, however, makes you feel 100 percent. It seems to last two weeks regardless.

I wish this cold would go away. I'm now afraid to wipe my nose; I've had 4 bad nosebleeds in the past few days from it.

I seem to be slowly rejoining the human race. Not sure if that's good or not, but I feel better. Not all the way better, but better than where I was two days ago, or even yesterday.

That damn bug knocked the ever-lovin stuffing out of me.

Hopefully this will be my last post on this thread.

It has helped me figure out the secret of life though. We spend our lives getting well until one day we don't.

Careful when lancing those buboes. It'll hurt a lot. Try irrigating them afterwards with a betadine solution; that's what I always have to do when my cats get golf ball sized pustules under the skin from fights. THen you can thread a bit of gauze through your skin to keep it open and allow drainage.

I'm going to see if Kamper will give me a steroid injection in my shoulder. It has been hurting like a Beeyach off and on for several months. The frequency has picked up lately and it's driving me nuts!
