Ugh. Sore throat, full body ache, stuffed nose, and somebody's playing some rap music with the bass turned up way too high. Oh, my mistake, that's actually inside my head....

I'm sorry Bowlder. I'm being horribly selfish these days. I just woke up after sleeping for 14hours. Fatigue seems to be my biggest symptom. I may make it until 5 before I pass out for a few hours. My throat has been sore for @2 weeks, I gargle with salt water 2-3x/day and take a spray every 2hours that I'm awake. My fever still comes and goes and I take ibuprofen as often as allowed.

We have to move Oct 1st but I can't lift heavy objects, spleen/liver ruptures are a concern. Not that I have any energy too lift anything.

But in the end I would kill just to be able to swallow without pain.

I'm glad your feeling better.

Then it hit.....

I just spent 20 minutes puking uncontrollably....
My tummy hurts bad :(

I now have an itchy throat and a hacking cough that's slowly building in intensity, plus a slight (so far) fever. Not good. Time to pop more vitamins, or at least get more
Bolthouse farms C-boost smoothie. Good stuff.

Migraine here. Probably due to the impending weather change.... :(

Can't call off of work either. Stoopid people. I have to be on my death bed before they give me a day off at the beginning of the month.

I wonder if anyone would say anything if I turned the lights off? (I work in an office of only 100 people... they won't notice.)

I now itch from the back of my throat all the way down in to my lungs. Whatever it is, It's really going to suck. I'm off to the grocery for C-boost and something with oodles of zinc.

I had a nasty series of ear infections when I moved to FLorida (wisdom teeth, and Florida environment) and they kept causing severe nausea and dizziness, plus occasionally making my eardrums flutter/ spasm, which sometimes felt like they'd knock me over.

I've got the beginnings of an itchy, bumpy, swollen hands and feet allergic reaction. Just took some benedryl for it, so I'll be asleep soon.

I had a terrible reaction this summer to an antibiotic that was very similar. I have no idea what's triggered this one.

I am scheduled for a sub job tomorrow. What happens when the sub calls in sick????

Hey SC, if you have a head cold the nausea could be drainage of mucus to your stomach.

WHINE: I've been trying to move beyond dayhiking and get into backpacking...BUT...after I saved up & bought a nice pack & better boots, a series of unfortunate events unfolds...
Last fall: whacked knee, resulting in months of bursitis.
winter: severe plantar fascitis (could barely walk for a couple of months)
summer: forget it, too hot, no money to travel to hike somewhere cool
autumn: beautiful! but busy.
winter: influenza, bronchitis (asthma makes the flu last 2 months for me)

WHINE! Somebody pass the cheese, please.

Reading about all these fun trips is killing me. I'm hoping to head out for a few days after Christmas. If you come to south Texas to get a break from the cold and pass a woman hacking and wheezing as she creeps up a hill, that'll be me.

Oops, I misspelled it:
Plantar Fasciitis
http://www.webmd.com/hw/foot_problems/hw114460.asp

It was miserable - I have high arches & they started falling b/c my shoes & boots weren't supportive enough. Thankfully some hard arch support shoe inserts solved the problem.

I hope you find a good solution for you, graska.

Well, I'm home from work with a rash. WHen I woke up this morning, I didn't have any rash, but it came back in full force after I got out of the shower!

Dr. office opens in 5 minutes....I'll be putting a call into him.

Until then, I'll be struggling not to scratch...

yw :)
I just went to my regular doc. He told me to rest, ice my feet, and wear good supportive shoes. I just ended up buying hard plastic insoles at Target.

If you think you might have plantar fasciitis, I found this site that has a lot of info: http://heelspurs.com/index.html

Good luck!

Smiley, are you allergic to soap?
Bess

Bess, thanks again, I ordered some of their insoles on that site... the WebMD upset me though when I read.... "Plantar fasciitis is common among middle-aged adults." ; ) I KNOW they're not talking about me!!

Bess, I'm not allergic to anything like that, as far as I know. We haven't changed soaps, lotions, detergents, etc. I am racking my brain over this.

I did start using my "winter" moisturizer last week, but I've used it before without any problems. I'm wondering if that's it. Its Neutrogena stuff, so it shouldn't cause any allergies, I don't think.

I slept most of the day, and as soon as 4 hours goes by, the hives start to come back. I'm not sure if I'll even be able to work tomorow.

The only other thing that was different was that I used the laminator at school yesterday. I ate leftovers for lunch with my usual diet coke.

I had two huge welts on my feet this morning. One was on the bottom of my foot, and I could feel the lump as I was walking.

No more hives. Yea!

My aunt is a nurse, and told me to take a zantac with the benedryl. I don't know why it works, but it seems to have helped me get over the allergic reaction quicker. They gave me one in the hospital too last time I had a reaction like this.

SG, is your water softened and are there any additional chemicals in the salt used? One of those might do it. Also ,you can suddenly develop an allergy to something you've used or eaten for years. Case in point, HPM is suddenly allergic to pistachios (unless they're cooked into something else), and his dad can't have shellfish or anything derived from them anymore.

I have yet another cold. I went through about a 6-year period when I was catching a cold every 6 weeks or so. Docs couldn't figure out why - I do everything "right", like eat healthy, get plenty of sleep, exercise, wash hands frequently, etc. So my doc at the time suggested I take a Claritin every day, guessing that maybe my mild allergies were just enough to weaken my immune system so I caught every bug instead of fighting most of them off like most people.

Whether it was the Claritin or not, over the next 205 weeks (according to my records!), I caught only 7 colds, or an average of less than 2 per year, one every 29 weeks. But starting in March, I have caught 5 colds, 3 in the past 16 weeks. Arrrgh!!! I am sick of being sick!

Obviously, the last thing to blame is your job. You should quit it immediatly. :)

I'm sick of having hives. They were back in full force about dinnertime last night. Today is Day 9....they're better, but what gives???
