“I guess I'm lucky. I woke up with the worst sore throat I've ever had last weekend. It progressed into feeling like #&%!$ all over. I would have liked to stay home a couple days this week but there was too much going on.

We moved offices, so on top of being sick, there was dust flying all over all week. I was pretty miserable most of the week.

But I think I'm over it. I don't feel 100%, but I feel good enough for a workout today. It's probably not going to be pretty, but I haven't done anything except go to work and come home to bed every day this week. I need to move around and sweat a little.”

“i was denied buying two boxes of decongestant today at walgreens. it was the 12 hour stuff that is behind the counter because people use it to make crystal meth or something. anyway, it's not a walgreens thing as they are just doing what the law requires. it was just annoying. man i hope this stuff clears up my head. last night was an awful nights sleep, if you can call it sleep.”

“wasn't there a study that showed that otc cough suppressents basically don't work. it was like this last year. i never thought that stuff worked well for me.”

“Most people take a cough suppressant the same time they take an expectorant. What do you think is going to happen?”

“I actually had a decent workout, I guess. I did some light/medium intensity cardio. I did 10 minutes on an elliptical, 10 on a bike, 10 on a rower, and 10 on a treadmill at 5 mph. Hard enough to work up a good sweat and send me into a couple of near puking coughing fits. Yeah!!!!

I would have rather lifted weights, but I didn't. I probably would have tired out really quickly and felt like doodoo.”

“My cough and Laurel's cough are both back a little more. I think it has to do with spending most of the weekend outdoors. However, I did watch several people at the koi show who had to lean over the sides of the area where the ko show was held (top of a parking garage at a hotel) and cough/ almost puke their guts out. Something hellish is definitely going around.”

I usually bring hand sanitizer when talking to students, but forgot... shook the hands of 30 sweaty-palmed, nervous kids and now I'm paying for my lack of sanitizer!!

Felt like a truck ran me over starting last Sunday... I took a day off on Monday, but have been feeling crappy all week.... Now I am just totally congested... BAH....

Thankfully, I am not coughing, but the post-nasal drip is keeping me up at night... Looking like Rudolph these days and with hands so chapped, I could use them as sandpaper (even after putting on lotion!!!

Someone nailed it on the head that it feels like the flu when it starts and now I think I've got a sinus infection...”

“Woke up in the middle of the morning with a sore throat and general yuckiness. Probably due to the dry air and 50 mph winds in RMNP during our dayhike yesterday. Totally worth it. ;)

Either that, or all the air recirculating on the airplane from Friday. Again, totally worth it. :D”

“feel well all. i remain congested with a cough but the worst is past me. i have been taking those 12 hour time release decongestants and as long as i take them on time i can breathe well. the cough syrup from the doc with codeine puts me out at night. i am off the nyquil now. blech! i love sambuca but the taste of nyquil is far from sambuca!”

“I know someone who had this thing 3 weeks ago, and it showed up again!

For the most part it's done and over with me, but I have a coughing fit about once or twice a day only now.”

“Yep, coughing fits in the morning, spit all the lumpy goo out, and I'm good for most of the day. Same for Laurel, but she still has a very runny nose. I'm amazed how fast she's going through entire boxes of kleenex.”

“I had to take my neighbor to the ER last week because of a bad stomach virus. She was totally dehydrated. 2 liters of iv fluid later, she could finally give them a urine sample.

I just wish the coughing and hacking would end for Laurel and I. This has gone on for over a month now.”

“The docs yanked my tonsils when I was in 3rd grade. It didn't make a damned difference for how many times I got sick or not. All they did was remove a vital piece of my immune system.”

“Poor Laurel. She was up 2 hours past her bedtime last night (no idea how that happened) and was really weepy and tired this morning. I got a call from one of her teaches at 1:20 this afternoon, saying Laurel had a sinus headache which she said wasn't really bothering her, but she kept swaying in her seat during math, and almost fell (asleep) 2 or 3 times. She's dosed with mucinex, ibuprofen and a decongestant now, and sound asleep. Poor sweety.”

“God it hit me Sunday....I was covering a shift for another officer and about 10AM I could NOT get warm....then after lunch we got back from a call I literally collapsed on the couch....when my 5 PM relief came I headed home...was out of it yesterday...going slow today.”

“I swear I have had more "cold" this year than Joseph has colors on his coat!

It started last night, I've got the soar throat, swollen gland, and funky ears. I wouldn't normally as for prayers for a cold but I leave for Honduras in 10 days...I can't be sick!!!”

“I have had the upper resp stuff that just makes you cough and hack....been treating it with Zinc tea, aerobic workouts followed by LONG steam saunas and trying to get sleep.”

“Thanks for the tips...I bought Airborne and Tylenol Cold...also been drinking Vitamin C Water. Although it would be good for me I don't think there are any aerobic workouts and saunas in the future.”

All in my lungs...coughing, entire body aches, and the chills! Man! Last night I had a space heater on my side of the bed...wearing UA Coldgear pants, sweatpants, down booties, fleece shirt & sweatshirt, under flannel sheets and 3 blankets. Still cold. Top it off with a bit of a queasy tummy. What fun.

At work now but leaving in about 20 minutes.

Being upright isn't working out so well for me.”
