TT Feeling Sickly Thread

“There must be something going around. When I went to the grocery store the other day the cashier was sick and coughing. I tried to stay away as much as I could.”

“I left early Friday, lay around all weekend, hacking away, taking Alka Selzter Plus Flu - finally dragged my butt to the doc yesterday just to hear the usual - it's a virus.

I have bronchitis and laryngitis, so I lose my spot on Ana's field trip tommorrow. dammit...

I thought the doctor visit was weird, she was tring to get me to take all kinds of stuff - vicoden or hydrocodon - I wasn't sure what for, but I said no. I did take an inhaler, and it seems to work pretty well.”

“twig, I switched docs for the same reason--- I had a respitory infection last year and my dr. was a huge pill pusher. Anytime I went to see her she handed me a list of prescripts that made no sence to me. I've since changed dr.s!”

“get well!!!....I had broncitis a few weeks ago...It took me weeks to finally stop having coughing fits!!!...I carried my cough syrup & cough drops everywhere I went!!!..when I finally could, I did deep breathing excersises & I feel much better....you will too ...sooon I hope!!!!”

“SC, I go to the "wanna be a doctor" place, so I rarely see the same person twice. This one even said (jokingly) well you can sell them, and we all laughed (there was a med student there as well)

Rich, they didn't offer me antibiotics.

I did end up going on the field trip as the kids mom (who was going to take my place) called this am to say she was sick.
I felt fine for it anyway, just didn't think other parents would appreciate me infecting their children with my crud...oh well. It was a great trip, museum and state house.”

“I have to travel on biz this week. In Dallas now and going to Baltimore. Last night I felt like crap... High fever. I kept taking ibuprofin abd it worked.. Once... Then it stopped working on the 2nd dose. So I switched to tylenol and it worked until an hour ago and the last dose did not work. So I went back to ibuprofin now and it does not seem to be working. I got through security and got a slushie to get my core temp down. Now I a freezing and shivering like mad. My earys started to ring and I got tunnell vision but as soon as it came it went. I don't know wtf to do. I don't get into bltimore until midnight. I an worried about reporting in sick and bailing on the trip for fear of what will happen with my job. If I make it to baltimore I will at least get a few hours of sack time. Oh such misery!”

“Chills and freezing can mean you have a high fever. If your skin does feel warm to the touch, get a cooling shower. If you feel cool to the touch, get a warm shower. Hydrate as much as possible, too.”

“Very rough night last night. The hotel bed was great and I took some tylen pm and ibuprofin and it was lights out. I woke up at 4 in a pool and recalled phone calls with my business partners that NEVER HAPPENED. In one a guy I am meeting this adternoon told me that there had been a change of plans and he would pick me up at "Pendergras Station" (whatever the heck that is) and that I should cab it there. I would swear I had the conversation but I looked at the call log on my phone and it did not. I called the guy and he laughed his ass off and told me to go back to bed... That I would not see him until 1pm (as was the original plan). Terrible week.”

“At least he was understanding. I hate dreams like those. Hope they don't recur for you.”

“Just got back from the urgent care place. Pneumonia! I knew something was really wrong. I have never felt this sick in my entire life.”

“Good grief. Take care of yourself man.”

“I'm glad to hear you got to the doc for that Yogi. My wife's uncle passed away from pneumonia a couple of months ago. He was a 50 year old very healthy man! I didn't know pneumonia was that bad.”

“Yikes! The Pneumonia has spread like wildfire this year. A co-worker died from it last year.

Take care of yourself man! You now on meds, yes?”

“Yes. Lots of them. A strong 10 day antibiotic plus a breathing treatment and two cough meds (one for day and one for night) oh and Tylenol for the terrible fever. I can feel an improvement already after only the second dose of the antibiotic but I am still really weak.”

“My goodys! I got lyim th'zees! My dokter got me some leetel beety snaks that are pills and sayed "eet seffrel of thees ever day and you will be okay". I am awreddy feelin bedder.

I did not wont to even get out of the truk them nother days ago, but I let Gissmaeioux kerry me in the liberry so I culd tell ever buddy to dont be worryed (and chek my me male bwt).”

“I've a bad cold or flu for a couple of days. The weather is unbelievably beautiful this weekend, and I am stuck inside. Good thing I didn't try to go backpacking. My fever is 102. Sucks to be me.”

“Still feel like chit today. This is the fourth day of having a fever, cough, aches, and malaise. Can't decide if I should go to the doctor. I mean, if it's the flu, there's not much that can be done other than letting it run it's course. I think I waited too long for a Tamiflu shot.

“the doctor gave me leviquin (sp?) which really cleaned me up. i still have a persistent cough and my energy level is low, but I am feeling much better thanks.

pneumonia is terrible and I sure hope you don't have that. i hope you feel well soon!”
