silly question but, did you get a flu shot?
I know that the flu shot does not mean you will not get the flu, but it does help if you do.
I got mine for the first time this year. I did have the flu in Oct (got shot in Dec) but nothing since then.
Feel better and stay warm!

Your sentence structure is still good, Chili.

At least you haven't suffered brain damage from the ague.

Get well!

Thrifty, two under 3 (in day care I assume?) God go with you. I remember those days.

OOOOH...I went through that until last year, then I lowered the temp in the house to around 60 in the winter....(often done in institutional environments to lessen the enviornment for viruses and bacteria to survive)

SO far this year (knock on wood) nothing even have dodges some serious station illnesses)

funny, i was talking to my wife about that exact thing last night...i think next year, when the youngest is old enough to actually keep a cover on through the night, we'll try that too

I've been feeling crumy for a couple weeks. cruddy cough in the mornings and generally tired. Nothing major. I keep waiting for the flu since Chili had it a couple weeks ago, but I guess I am clear.

When my kids were little, they would bring home the crap and I would get sick. They hardly ever got sick. Ear infections are the worst!!

excuse me? i am not a baby when I am sick..

just because I was upset that tree went away for the weekend and left me home alone does not mean anything.
so what if I called him every ten mins. i was sick and he should have been home taking care of me....

oh never mind ..

Not feeling too great. My guts have been acting up. It didn’t hit me like a bolt out of the blue on the loo, rather developed gradually over the last two weeks and got really bad by Friday. After dinner my tummy hurt madly and my guts were running amok. Next morning when I woke up I even threw up a bit into my mouth. I belief it’s the foreign cuisine, not a fully fledge food poisoning. Food is generally good here and I have been staying away from dodgy looking taverns and street kitchen with delicacies such as garden snails and other unidentifiable treats. But about everything I get in the restaurants is soaked in oil. Took some Immodium, eh voila, still feeling a bit wobbly, but doing better.

Just been wondering - in case of acute food poisoning, wouldn’t it be better to take something like coal tablets instead? Those are also very commonly sold for treating travel diarrhea. They absorb the toxic or harmful substances that make the stomach sick, whereas Immodium just stops the bowel movement, which brings instant relief, but does nothing to get the harmful substances out? In fact, wouldn’t Immodium be the wrong medication for acute food poisoning, as it stops the natural reaction of the body to flush the poisoning out? So obviously, both meds work very differently to cure the cause/symptoms of diarrhea. Does anybody know advise which med to take when?

I think they give people activated charcoal when they pump their stomachs(?).   That seems pretty drastic.

Another pleasant thought.... didn't the Plague kill people by dehydration from diarrhea?

(though the probability of Euro recognizing the 37-year-old American advertising jingle for Bluebonnet Margarine, and the inherent pun, is vanishingly small)

Charcoal is considered the universal antidote for all sorts of poisons, but there are some types of for which it is contraindicated. Having been retired for 17-18 years and having no attitude at all, I can no longer recall when it should not be used. However, it is the major ingredient in every dispensary's shipboard antidote locker and very helpful in assisting those who are hungover.

Shipboard........................assisting those who are hungover?

You could help them over the side and into the drink.

That's the trouble, they were already into the drink...not on the brink of the drink as you infer.

Ugh, I'm sick. Lots of goop in my lungs so I can't catch my breath, my nose won't stop running, lots of goop going to my stomach, too. I can't get my ears to drain and right now that's the worst. Couldn't sleep last night, either. HPM didn't take his cold meds last night so he snored like a buzz saw. I'm taking Laurel to school (she had this stuff already, but not very bad) and going back to bed. The rest of the world can kiss my a$$.
