Abby got the crud this morning, or last night, whichever. I awoke to hear birch saying "what's in your hair Abby? EWWW IT'S VOMIT!". To his credit he cleaned it all up, cleaned her up and let me sleep for just a bit longer. She's been complaining about a sore throat too...

How long does this stuff last?

Wow. I haven't had so much as a sniffle since I quit smoking nearly 3.5 years ago....

I guess not being a nicotine junkie anymore really helped, <GRIN>

Sass,
I woke up with it Thursday morning and it started clearing up yesterday evening. However, I have produced my own weight in mucus so far this morning. Mostly as a product of sneezing. Man am I glad I'm not sick anymore :-D .

I'm starting to get some crud too. Every time I blow my nose it looks like wilted romaine lettuce coming out. Bleah.

Well, the kid seems to be fully recovered. She even says her throat doesn't hurt anymore. =) It's the Gummy-Vites.

Jeepers, don't you all know about vitamin C and Garlic? I swear by them. First sign of itchy throat or just tiredness I take 2000 mg of vit c 2x a day (sometimes 3, depending if I've ignored my symptoms) Take garlic if you think you might have the flu, though vit C will help too. You probably all know this but garlic (even the odorless kind) is nature's antibiotic, helps improve circulation. And remember dairy products encourage mucus, so go light on dairy if you have a cold.

Haven't any of you people heard of Airborne? This stuff is the greatest thing since sliced bread!

Go to WalGreens and buy some. It really works.

Airborne is like Alka-Seltzer. You pop one of the tablets into a half a glass of water and drink. Looks and tastes a little like mountain dew.

Some school teacher invented it after getting sick at school too much. Contained in the pill are all kinds of anti-oxidents and other good stuff that is supposed to fight off bad germs.

One night last week, I felt a cold coming on. I took one of these before I went to bed and I woke up fine, no symptons.

You can take these even if you are knock down sick throwing up fever sore throat stuffy head blaugh blaugh blaugh blaugh.

Look for a white tube about the size of a stack of quarters at your local drugstore.

Be well!

Vitamin C is only good for resisting infection. Once your sick excess vitamin C is useless. Once ill, your body gives priority to the immune system so it can make massive amounts of immunoglobulins. These are made of protein. Therefore, protein is the number one dietary supplement when ill.
