Don't know. I am a big guy but I wouldn't say burly. I have heard that some of the biblers can be a little tight lenghtwise. I have never had a girth problem in a tent.
If you are that -ahem- big that you cant fit your girth into a tent you might want to try a diet.

That's what scares me about bivys. I run a little on the large size. I think changing clothes would be impossible for me in a bivy. I like the compact size and light weight, but I don’t think I’d be happy with one.

I wanted to buy some of that Epic fabric to make a pair of pants, but the only supplier I could find was thruhiker.com at $12 per yard. The only color they have is yellow. That's OK for a bivy sack or tent, but I didn't feel like making a pair of yellow pants.

You would look good in yellow pants rich.

I know what you mean about the bivies Must hike. Of course a tarp doesn't give you much privacy anyway.

Maybe only during hunting season, but eventually someone will sell a different color. Oware had some in a while back in green, but he's sold out. I also heard Feathered Friends would sell some E Vent, but at $25 per yard that's a little steep in price.

Lt it’s not the modesty, I mean if someone wants watch me change I don’t care I just hope they brought something for the nausea. It’s changing clothes in winter if I’ve worked up a sweat.

LOL yeah a bivy would be tough living in a snowstorm. If I get a Catskills trip going for Jan. I will bring my 4-season SD Tiros it is pretty bombproof and sleeps 2.

Besides worrying about it's waterproofness, just how strong is this EPIC fabric? Can it take some wind? Snow load?

Curious
LT when you say 1lb of hydrostatic pressure do you mean 1 psi? What was the rating for the old Toddtex material?

Are these tents still made in the USA?

I don't know i cut and pasted that from an e-mail that the customer service department sent me.

Don't know about the made in USA thing either.

They are selloing these as 3-season tents for now. Is what they told me.
