Aero comes to Florida

“So our illustrious globe trotting backpacking man of mystery Aero landed in my neck of the woods. Well, near my neck of the woods. He was staying up on Amelia Island, a very posh resort area a few miles north of us.

We met up for dinner and drinks and had a grand ole time chatting together. Unfortunately Artex wasn't able to come up from Tampa and join us so it was just Aero Treebait and myself.

It was a good evening. Unfortunately there is no photographic evidence due to my digital camera still being truely and most sincerely dead.

Funny note of the evening. We were driving back to the hotel to drop off Aero and he turns to Treebait and says "So, do you post at TrailTalk?"”

“Heh heh, I'm still laughing about that!”

“Treebait should have answered, "Do you read TrailTalk?"”

“I was laughing too hard! I just popped out with "I'm Treebait!"”

“That's funny!
Glad ya'll had a good time.”

“So, what have y'all done with aero?”

“Cool deal! Man, too bad we couldn't have had some big shindig over Thanksgiving, but it woulda cut into backpacking time. And as it was, I managed to meet no one on the possible agenda (skullcap, goose and OM)

Actually Mrs. Aero is attending and is a speaker at a convention being held there. Aero and Ms. Aero Jr. were along for the ride.”

“This resort is such that when HPM and I were walking in, a man walking out thought I was "the help."

“I just got off the phone with Aero. We talked for quite a while, though are connection was a bit broken (half the time he sounded like a robot). I'm bummed I couldn't make it up, aero sounds like a really cool guy and I'm sure HPM and treebait are as well.

treebait - The help?! I would have kicked him in the gnads and then asked for a tip. :-)

“Missed Aero by a matter of days. It would have been pretty neat to move from Billings and then meet up with him in Florida.

We're in Casa Grande, Az and hoping to be in Tampa by the weekend. We'll be spending the winter there and looking forward to meeting everyone in the area. Will check in on TT once we're settled in.”

“What the heck are you doin' up at this time of night, Geezr?!”

“BTW, got your email re: FL. Man, you just can't stand to stay in one place for more than a few months....”

“Hey, i'm back in the frozen north! it's about 20 and snowing, but it's nice to be back. I have this weird tattoo on my butt that i can't explain; it looks like "TT Rules!" but I have to look at it with a mirror. The last thing i remember was Humanpackmule saying, "Another round of Bass for my friend here!" I'm not showing it to my wife. So, HPM and treebait, thanks for a great evening! And Artex, nice chatting with you! Hope "the Thing" works out!”
