last year as a family we made these sweet stuffed snowman. I handed then out to everyone for Christmas at my job. I would like to do the same thing. It sure is cheaper then buying gifts for 25 people.
So I am looking for little gift ideas, have any that won't land me in jail?

One year I made truffles - kahlua filled. Chocolate is always good.

Last couple of year's I've given champaigne. Great because they can toast the new year.

This year - coffee, and candles

A friend of mine makes these cool things. A 1 qt canning jar filled with potpourri and christmas lights. A fabric doily on the top. When you plug in the lights, it looks great and scents the room.

Chocolate covered pretzels... make white chocolate, dark chocolate, and milk chocolate and vary them with different colored sprinkles on them.... red, green, or both.

They tie them in colored wrappings with a ribbon and a tag that says Merry Christmas : )

Special Spoons
This is in response to the recent college grad who is looking for inexpensive home-made gifts for the Holidays. Buy a package of plastic spoons, preferably in festive colors. Dip them in chocolate (melted chocolate chips work well) and shake off the excess. Place them on wax paper and sprinkle with crushed peppermint candy. After they dry, wrap them in cellophane and tie with a ribbon. Put a few spoons in a coffee mug along with some individual hot cocoa or coffee packets and you have a great gift for those chilly nights!

Give out scratch off lottery tickets.

Problem with that is if someone wins $10,000 off your buy, you will have to kill them.

The wife and I are putting baskets together for friends. We are doing an outdoor theme, with stuff like...Goo and Power Gel, mini led flashlights, mini biners, small packages of salmon and trail munchies, bandannas and stuff like that. I even included a small bottle of Hot Damn in a couple (hope to get some of that back during New Years)

we learned it from the Boy Scouts

you take a new clean white crew sock.
stuff it with cotton stuff.
then tie of the middle (but near the top to make a neck, the string can be made into a scarf)
and then tie off the top. then cut the top off and roll the extra sock down to make a hat.
then get little baby colorful cottonballs and glue them on to make the bottons on the snowmans belly. then get makeup like powder blush to make the red cheeks. eyeline works good for the eyes.
just big dots.
then put a bigger pompom on the top of the hat.

there ya go. I will take a pic of the one i have at the house tonight and post it tomorrow so you can get a eye of what it looks like.
all in all it takes about 5 mins to make. real easy and sweet looking to.

cool! can I be your friend?
LOL...

The spoon mugs will be gifts from the grandkids to their family on the "other side."

One year the kids and I did their handprints in plaster of paris. It took forever and the little one...argh! Well we worked on them a couple of weekends, but I couldn't get enuff of them done for everyone. I guess that caused a small problem, LOL.

Plus Ana wanted to paint them, so I got blue and pink paint. She painted some of hers blue and some of her brothers pink. I guess that didn't go over too well either. :)
maybe we'll make out better this year, LOL!

We're also making ornaments with the kids pictures in them.

Gift Ideas?? What could I get for an 8 yr old boy who has everything to make a good first impression on him? He's kind of a smartass little kid, but he is smart, and he's a good kid. I need something to just kind of break the ice, maybe give him something to remember me by.

My g/f is his guardian and is currently fighting for custody, and may eventually adopt him, so he will probably eventually be a large part of my life, I haven't met him yet, the first time I see him will be Christmas.

I got my wife just what she's always wanted, a pink Kitchenaid mixer.

Simer, get that 8 year old kid a chemistry set; they make them for kids. Someone bought me one at about that age and I had hours of mad scientist fun with it. If he's a smart kid he will dig it.
