What trip do you want to do that you haven't yet, and is in the realm of possibility?

I'd love to hike the AT.. but realistically that would be tough to do anytime soon.

However, I'd love to do a week long kayaking/hiking trip down the Alagash River. It's to the immediate north of Baxter State Park in Maine. It's up in the middle of "nowhere", supposedly VERY wild, and offers a true wilderness experience. It's great to imagine floating down the river, and seeing all sorts of killer wildlife... pulling off to the side and explore the land a little.. camp along the river banks at night and listen to the owls hooting at night. I hope to do this trip sometime in the next couple of years, if anyone is interested.

What new trips do you want to conquer?

I'd love to hike in Alaska in Denali National Park, Glacier National Park, and Grand Tetons National Park. Those have got to be the most beautiful places in the world!

I agree shiprunner, those places are also way high up on my list also (and MIGHT be reality this summer, depending on the thing). :-)

I'll probably be doing a week in Glacier in '05. Next summer is the Boundary Waters.

The Boundary Waters is the border between Canada and Minnesota. Some of the best canoeing in the country.

Shiprunner, it's still being discussed. I'd say my chances of going to AK are 50/50 at this point.

The PCT, the AT (including the international AT).

If I suddenly go huge money, I'd love to do long distance hikes along and around the Silk Road, the Japanese Alps, and maybe up through South and Central America (if it ever gets safe to do that kind of hiking).

Where do you plan on canoeing HPM? I have paddled the waters up by the northern boundry. It is well worth the extra 3 hour drive to Nym Lake or Beaverhouse.

I would love to get back up there!

I'd love to get out West of Colorado some day either in the Sierra's or the Cascades, Mt Ranier is high on the want to list. Alaska will prolly be a once in a lifetime thing for me.

I'm hoping to be able to go out for Wind-O-Rama this coming August - that would be a great trip for me.

When are you heading up this direction?? I had an opportunity for a job out at the canoe base, but turned it down for personal reasons, I have a few friends that are working out there this winter, it sounds like a lot of fun. I live right here in ely, let me know if you're going to be in the area.

Gee, where do I start. A few on my list (all within the realm of possibility):

AT - I start this one in March

Anything in the Sierras, CA

Wind River Range, WY - possibly summit Gannett

Wonderland Trail in Washington

Great Divide Trail in Alberta and BC, Canada

Hike in the Brenta Group, Dolomites, Italy

Inca Trail in Peru

Trek around the Torres del Paine in Patagonia, Chile

Trip up Denali

Trek to Everest Basecamp

That's the start of my wish list. So much beautiful earth to see...

Kind pipe dreams
I would like to hike the Highlands in Scotland someday before I die.

I would like to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro and hunt the beast that walks in it's shadow.

Ditto on the Milford Sound, N.Z. My pops spent last Feb, DownUnder in those 2 countries. N.Z. looks amazing. Actually I heard that 'sound' is a fjord.

No takers on a beach stroll in Normandy?

Not really a hike,
I want to go live on Cumberland Island.

Forever.

I'm thinking they (the park service) probably won't let me do that. I girl can dream, though.

Milemonster struck a old thought. I always have wanted to hike to base camp Everest, just to see the madness. Is it possible to hike from Everest to K2? They are in the same range, are they not? That could be an interesting trip.

Grand Tetons National Park and surrounding vicinity

Denali and maybe summit it if I had the cahnce or the guide to do it

Mount Rainer-includes summiting it and some of the wonderland trail

Yosemite again

Everest-just to see it would be awesome

Basically go everywhere and see the beauty this world has to offer
