“Yam, just make damn frickin sure your drivers license is not expired at that damn MSP airport. I never gave it a second thought, relating that to flying. I was in my one-month period to renew it. But, HELL NO!! IT WAS EXPIRED AND NOT CONSIDERED A LEGAL I.D.

The people at the AirTran ticket counter said they had sent people away crying, not letting them fly. I threw out all the plastic I had, none of which was "official" (such as a social security card)

Maybe it's cuz it was Thanksgiving, but they let me fly. Interestingly, at Atlanta they never even caught the expired date.

Oh yeah, MSP has a California Pizza Kitchen... I think it's on Concourse F. Yummy, yammy!!! LOL!”

“Social Security cards can't be used as ID by law, believe it or not. That's aside from the fact that they're so easy to forge.

Is a passport good enough to fly on? If so, get one and always carry it with you. If it's good enough to get you in and out of the country, it oughta be good enough to get you to Minneapolis.”

“Yam, were you still working when the storm came through. I was at the last check point before the finish line and we caught heck there.”

“yup, ewk, I was still at my checkpoint when the storm hit. I was up on the ridge, too, and when we were told there was possible tornadoes coming through, it made for an interesting scurry down into the gully.....got drenched!!
But made it out. Did you get back for some lasagna?”

“Pennsy, Yam and I worked a Adventure Race Saturday. It was my first time to see one. I had a blast even though I was soaked.

Yam, we had trees falling down all round us. Lightening struck around us twice. The wind was coming across the ridge like crazy.

At 5:00 (which was the cut off time)we had only 32 teams checked in. The check point before us only had 32 teams but the one before them had all 34 teams checked in.

Patrick and Todd went looking for them. Finally they figured out that those 2 teams bailed when the storm hit and went back to the finish line.

I finally got back to get some food. I stayed until all the teams crossed the finsih line.

The last team was Valkyries (sp). That was the all female team from Columbia. They had great spirit! They were yelling we stayed out there longer than anyone....wooohoo

You couldn't help but get inspired by them and everyone else.

What amazed me was how they were thanking us for being out there. I was like guys your the ones doing this. I am just waiting for you. We cheered and encouraged them on.

I will be back next yr but hopefully competing instead of helping.”

Todd had found them once already around my checkpoint (I was the navigational section, the third to last checkpoint), he and Patrick had gone into the gully hunting them down then.

I was happy that CT won. I know both Jamie and Avril on that team. Jamie is also the guy that was in the Eco Challenge Fiji race.”

“I know Jamie from the ascending and rappelling class I took which BTW I suck at...lol

I talked to Jamie last Thursday and he is going to help me on the ascending. That was my weakest part.

I meet one of the other teams at the ascending/rappelling class so I was kind of cheering them on. They lost a teamate early on due to him getting sick.

I am glad those teams didn't have to compete in those conditions all day long.”
