“I just read your Lasik thread. You might want to read about what Beck Weathers went through on Everest in Krakauer's 'Into Thin Air'. Apparently laser eye surgery can render you blind at altitude. If you plan or hope to go high some time, you might want to think about that. Just a thought.

“I don't know anything about lasik, but I do know that there's lots of things doctors don't tell you until AFTER surgery.

And I never noticed this before, but the ads on the side of TT pertain to the subject of the thread.”

I'll make sure to bring that up with the doc when I get the final exam. The technology has changed (so they tell me) a lot in recent years so hopefully altitude won't be a factor. Not that I'm planning an Everest trip anytime soon.
