They also sell rubber tips for these poles. Item# 99611 $4.95. They work great in areas that are rocky.

Didn't find a code on the thread, just a general discount discussed. For $30 bucks those are a deal anyway. 20% is $6. It was worth that to get my order in before yours!

These look good for snowshoeing!!

okay...I am losing my mind....that's what I am reading:

non anti-shock poles, which reduce stress on knee

dangid...doesn't that mean they are NOT anti-shock...

anti-shock would have the spring, right??

dang, I hate days like that!!!
Gemini

These are non anti shock poles. There will be no spring action in these poles. I don't think you will miss the anti-shock.
Badger

so they screwed with my mind though...because the spring is what reduces the stress on the knee, at least it's supose to

Gem,
They're comparably lightweight, Komperdell is good quality from what I read on this board and they're dirt cheap! I have antishock and don't feel what difference it really makes. Even for a backup pair, this is a fantastic deal.

Naaaaaaaaaaaa, they are terrible poles, cheap, break easy! Don't buy them!

(dang it dhutch! You are gonna have all of them sold before I can get the discount code to buy mine! Ha Ha)

STP does have riddles in there catalogs you can answer to get free shipping. If you have the Gift Express 2003 catalog, the answer to the riddle on page44 is toys for tots and Bill and Diane Hendricks. I save alot on shippin by using these. Hope this helps.

Those poles look like the ones Nigal has.

For $30, you can't beat'em.

This is only one instance so may not mean squat, but figured I oughta' mention it anyway.

I have a pair of Leki poles which my son kept "borrowing", so when I found a pair of Komperdells (similar to these but not the same) I bought 'em - $49.95 as I recall. I always heard Komperdell's were pretty good.

Anyway, they lasted about 4 hikes before major failure.

My current Leki's, on the other hand, have prolly 3-400 trail miles on them & are great.

I bought him a pair of Leki's earlier this year before our JMT trip, no more Komperdell's for me!

Now that I have placed my order for three sets of these bad boys I will say they are great!
I have been using mine since the Rocky Mt. trip this past summer and have been very happy with them. They are good quality Komperdells and fairly light.
I ordered two sets as gifts and a spair set for myself for the price of one set.
The STP discount code did not work for these, but they are so cheap who cares.
I also ordered the rubber tips ($5 set) for use on soft ground.

Well phuck me with a rinestone studded cucumber! I just bought those damn things for $50! They kick ass. They are nice and light, the grips are great, the straps stay nice tight and the removable snow baskets real stay on. Snatch 'em up!

Sweet! I need a new pair. I bought a pair of Komperdells from STP a few years back. They lasted a long time, until I decided to go boot skiing with them and bent my wookie.

I am on my 2nd set of Komperdells & like them. However, I do like them with anti-shock feature, otherwise I would break them. The (older) Komperdells also shed their paint easily.

StoveStomper - I had to get up this morning and even connect from home before work to see if you just went ahead and bought those poles. The suspense was killing me.

Thanks for the endorsement of the poles.

Got home today and found a big package from Sierra Trading Post on my doorstep. Good FAST service!
Inside were my three pairs of poles. Woo Hoo!
Nice three piece poles.
Put a pair on my digital scale and they came out 1 # 2.5 oz. for the pair.
