Maryland Trip (12/20-21)

“I wanted to surprise you Treebeard. You camped at Pogo? You were just a few miles north of the Knob Hill lean-to where I thought you guys planned to camp. You would have been treated to a warm fire, clean shelter, and my sambucca. Oh well. I'm glad you all had a great time and I was a bit concerned when I didn't see anybody.”

“I think sleeping in the shelter would have been colder...but that big fire sounded nice...wish we made it there!”

Sleeping in a lean-to is colder but it's great for a gathering and hanging out. I did sleep in the lean-to though, with a 0 bag and a bivy sack, I was toasty warm.”

“Yeah, I had a 32F bag and a fleece liner...it was enough but wouldn't have worked in a shelter.”
