I was awakened by a massive cloudburst and turned on the tube. I'm hearing different stories right now. Some say he's captured, others say he's hiding in a basement. Either way, yippee!!!

Good News. Now what should we do with him?

I vote for a nice big trial in Baghdad with lots and lots of Iraqi testimony.

I don't think anyone will come home earlier, capturing him doesn't mean everything is over for the terrorists over there.

HooRAY! I got a call from our friend PJ's (recently killed in Iraq) Mom at 6:30 in the morning. She was crying tears of joy. Scared me to death, I thought something horrible had happened. I'm so glad they found him.

According to Reuters:

"Gunfire crackled in celebration across the country as Iraqis greeted a U.S. military video showing their once feared leader, disheveled and sporting a bushy black and gray beard, undergoing a medical examination after seven months on the run.

"The arrest is a boon for President Bush, whose campaign for re-election next year was haunted by dogged attacks on U.S. troops and their allies. Saddam may also provide intelligence on alleged banned weapons.

also:

"There are unfortunately still people in Iraq who have no future because their loyalties are to Saddam. We expect they will continue to fight to the death," a senior White House official said....However, there was broad consensus among opponents of the U.S. invasion that getting Saddam behind bars was a good thing. France, Germany and Russia, all fierce critics of Bush's war, hailed the arrest as likely to improve security in Iraq."

Osama presents a more serious danger at this point in time, IMO. That guy is re-grouping and has been proven to be a threat to our security. Don't get me wrong. I'm glad the bastard is being brought to justice. But, that ain't going tosolve the terrorism problem. Active terrorists like Osama are a lot scarier to me than a wasted, impotent, ex-dictator found in a hole int he ground. Bring him to justice and give him what he deserves. But, don't forget where the real threats are and don't get sidetracked by political grand standing over this...

Does this mean the price of gas being charged to our army will be going down? Maybe George can send the next tax cut monies in a big check to his Halliburton buddies, so they won't have to profiteer next time.

BTW - I heard they finally found a WMD with him, a pistol, right! Thank God that threat is now gone!
