“These two are perfect examples of Liberal / Conservative.

Phaedrus: All about "social justice", works in the HMO business, probably making a pretty good buck at the expense of others. A white, hetero (married) male who enjoys taking on the "cause" of the day because he has no real investment in it. Priveleged by birth and society, feels guilty about it and wants EVERYONE to pay.

Stratdewd: An obviously mentally under-endowed southern white boy who eeks out a living by fixing coolers for a fast food company. Feels so grateful for his meager allowance of living that he is prone to hero-worship of those who would let him keep it so. Basically afraid of anything that he doesn't understand (most everything), he enjoys repeating ideas made simple for him by shock-jock conservative media.


I could replace these two names above with many from this site, and while I really enjoy the backpacking information and gear threads here, I rarely, if ever post, due to the constant needs to take sides with one of these two types, be it a fight between violin and briar rabbit, gear slut and father goose or treebeard and nigal.

The fighting between the two sides effectively destroys any ideas or good that may actually have come out of the discussions, AND ISNT THIS SUPPOSED TO BE A BACKPACKING SITE ANYWAY?”

Iffin you don't care for it here, that's cool. Not much room for ya anyways unless you got a real life and like beer, scotch and cigars.”
