Catskill 3500'
Hey I was just looking at their site and I realized that I have climbed up 6 of the peaks needed to join. My January trip will add two more Hunter and Southwest Hunter.

Anyone else here a member or working towards membership?

Do you have SW Hunter and Hunter?
Rusk Mtn is also right there off of the Spruceton trail, about a 3-4 hour round trip bushwack. Depending on the departure time on sunday we could drop our packs at the cars and bag Rusk.

Three in one weekend.

I've bagged ~18-20 of the Catskill peaks. I'd have to verify a couple that I think we're on that list, but I'm not entirely sure. :-)

I've climbed enough for both the Adirondacks & Catskills clubs. To me, it's kinda like church. Why do I need someone else's organization to bring approval to something I do.

For me, I use the lists not to obtain some magical number, but as a way of looking at areas that I have not been to. I am constantly finding places that have so much to offer and most often it isn’t even the mountain summit. I guess what I am saying is, get out and for the joy of hiking not to put another check on some list.

Lumberzac, I never listed attempts or multiples or less than ideal weather.
Failures include Tabletop in rain and fog and goddam blackflies by the billion, Armstrong from Wolfjaw abandoned because of avalanche conditions (same day there was an avvy death on Wright) and Gothics because too late in the day (Feb) and nasty stuff coming from Basin.

M.Silver 99% don't mean squat, gotta do em all.

The day I did the Lower Great Range, the original plan was to hike up Gothics and hike the upper range over to Marcy, and camp near Slide Brook. Day two we were going to hike the lower range. When we got up to the summit of Gothics there was only about 20’ of visibility with very wet and slippery rock. So we decided to hike the lower range and head back out. All and all it was a good trip. It would still be nice to rehike the range, when the weather is nice and I can actually see the views. I almost never cancel because of rain. I’m still waiting for that hike when I reach the summit and I’m above the clouds and all I can see are islands sitting in a sea of white.

This is bad. I promised myself that I wouldn't buy any gear until after the New Year, but I am very close to buying this:

That's a poor excuse Bobo. I have yet to see all of the Stanley Cup Finals because I go off hike on a weekend. Just put a tape in the VCR, and watch the game when you get back. If you don’t know the outcome of the game, the tape is better than the live game, because you can fast-forward through the commercials.
