You're correct on the stupid stuff rising while the goods sink.

That looks like great work. I really admire the patience and skill of good craftsmanship.

Oh Wow..now I have to show you some respect, Buddur..LOL...that is incredible work..I missed something but is the bootprint part of the resonator? I've played guitar since I was 12 but know little about banjo's..I've always wondered how inlaid was done..it looks very difficult...I am so very impressed and it's too early for that!

I was so proud of myself yesterday, Tree, I bought an $11 six-pack and drank two beers from it.

Today is cleaning it up and applying the first sealer coat....that is, after I take my neglected dog for a looooong walk in the woods.

AlreadyMakingPlansForAnOpenbackBackpackableBanjo
Glad y'all like the look. I have high hopes that I'll be able to tweak the final product to a very playable instrument.

It's not a kit nor iis everything from scratch. I got an unfinished resonator and got the neck with the heel and peghead and tuner holes pre-cut, and did the rest from there. I did alot of research regarding each part before deciding what to buy and use. I got all kickass parts, btw. So the thing, when it's all said and done, will definitly have potential. And it's nitrocellulous lacquer.

After final sanding and buffing/polishing, I still have to fit, slot and shape the nut, install the tuners, and the fifth string nut and RR spikes. So I still (will it ever end) have some work to do.

Absolutely gorgeous Buddur! Nice job.

Dude, do you get nervous that you'll mess something up now that you've spent so much time on it? I'd be paralized with fear I'd make that notch for the nut all wrong, lol. You really are very talented.
